Seafield House stands in the centre of the charming village of Lochinver, on the stunning north west coast of Scotland. With spectacular views across the sea to the islands beyond, this bright and spacious, three storey, detached property provides a wonderful holiday home for larger families or groups. Built in 1800, Seafield House was originally owned by the village shoemaker. The owners have carried out a meticulous programme of renovation throughout, whilst retaining a wealth of original features. They have succeeded in creating a unique blend of old and new, using carefully sourced reclaimed materials, as well as exposing original stonework and fireplaces. On the ground floor, there is a large living room with wood burner and lovely views across the sea. The dining room is simply stunning, with an exposed lime-washed stone wall and huge feature fireplace. An open door leads through to the farmhouse-style kitchen with solid wood dressers and work surfaces. From here, a door leads out to the patio area and the wildlife garden, where deer are frequent visitors. Wide, original staircases lead up to the bedrooms on the first and second floors. They are all very attractively furnished and decorated, again using a wealth of reclaimed furniture and furnishings.
Lochinver is a thriving fishing village with a natural harbour. It has a good selection of restaurants, two pubs, small shops and cafes. The stunning white sandy beach of Achmelvich is just 10 minutes’ drive away, and there are numerous sandy and rocky bays along this beautiful unspoilt coastline. Sailing, canoeing, kayaking, mountain biking, hill walking, fishing and climbing are all available locally. The area is a haven for wildlife, with deer regularly seen close to the cottage and can even sometimes be seen wandering in the garden. Osprey, eagles, seals and otters are all spotted in the immediate area. There are superb walks and climbs direct from the house and the dramatic peaks of Suilven, Stac Pollaidh, Canisp, Quinag and Ben More Assynt dominate the skyline of this wild and unspoilt Highland region. Lovely house, we'll equipped. Although it was the first week in July,it was really cold, but the heating worked great and whole house heated up very quickly. Only thing i'd change was the TV. With the weather being so bad, we spent more time indoors than normal. It wasn't a smart TV and it's small. If you didn't switch it off at the mains it would come on itself and at top volume, got a fright during the night. Big garden ,dogs loved it and granddaughter loved the swing. Lots of cafes and restaurants, locally. Surrounding area and beaches are stunning 😍

We had a brilliant week in Lochinver with the family. Seafield house provided a fantastic base for exploring the local area, we had visits to Achmelvich, Clachtoll, Durness and Ullapool. We did feel the couches in the living room and the seats in the dining room weren't very comfortable but the house was generally very well equipped and maintained. The kids particularly enjoyed the swing in the garden and playing hide and seek round the house.

A lovely house near the centre of Lochinver, well presented and lots of lovely homely details. Ideal for visiting the area wether, walking, hiking , sightseeing etc. A drying room with a washer was a bonus when the weather can often cause damp clothes. Perfect for a large family or groups of friends.
