Bogindour Cottage is highly praised for its cosy, dog-friendly atmosphere and thoughtful touches, including a welcome pack and doggy essentials. The property's charm and warmth are frequently mentioned, with its location being ideal for walks and exploring the area. The garden and maintenance issues are noted, but overall, guests have had memorable stays and look forward to returning.
Most guests found the cottage to be well-presented upon arrival. However, there were isolated reports of unclean dishes and a mouse incident, suggesting room for improvement in cleanliness standards.
The cottage's location is consistently lauded for its convenience to Inverness, the Black Isle, and local walks, making it an ideal base for exploring the Northern Highlands.
Guests describe the cottage as cosy, warm, and characterful, with special mention of the comfortable bedrooms. The presence of log burners and a roll-top bath add to the overall comfort.
While the property is appreciated for its dog-friendly facilities and kitchen range, there are mixed reviews regarding garden upkeep and heating issues. Due to the lack of consistent feedback on facilities and maintenance, a definitive score cannot be provided.
The owners' thoughtfulness is evident in the provision of a welcome pack, dog treats, and toys, although it's worth noting that such gifts may vary and are not guaranteed for every stay.

Could do with the gate making a bit wider as it was a struggle to get a day van in . Would definitely recommend it and hopefully stay there again my self some day. Great Dave

Not a good first impression when you arrive after driving all day. The lawn wasn't mowed, flower pots growing weeds, terrace area with weeds and bricks lying about and not very inviting. The cleanliness is just about ok: we had to clean some plates and glasses, the fridge is not clean and we found some stuff from previous guests in the freezer ( which we left ) The central heating ( only 2 radiators= one in the utility room and one in the sitting room) is on timer to which you have no control : when I contacted the owner to query about it I was told the heating would come on at 5pm. It didn't but came about 3am and stayed on for several days with no stopping . We tried to switch it off at the sockets but it kept going. There is no heating in the bathroom unless you fire the kitchen range on (which means purchasing vast quantity of wood )We were told that the towel rail radiator in the bathroom could only be on if the wood stove in the sitting room was lit ( so we bought some wood to do so ) : in fact we had the fire on several evenings but still no heating in the bathroom ( hence we concluded that the radiator in the bathroom was linked to the range in the kitchen). We ended up moving one of the plug in electric radiators . The bedrooms are lovely , spacious and comfortable with plug in radiators. Overall , the cottage and garden need some TLC. We were lucky enough to have a couple of days of good weather and there was no where in the garden to sit and have a drink except for a sad looking bench. When the weather turned ( lots of rain and quite cold which you would expect in Scotland) the heating malarckey went on. I paid more that £611 for a week in June and would expect much better than what was delivered.
