Guests say

Reay House is a spacious and well-presented property with beautiful decor and gardens, located in Nairn. Guests appreciate the comfortable beds, well-equipped kitchen, and the proximity to the town centre and beaches. The property is ideal for family stays and offers ample space for relaxation. Some guests noted road noise and suggested minor improvements, but overall experiences were very positive.

The property is generally described as clean and well-maintained. However, a few guests mentioned the need for deep cleaning in certain areas, such as under rugs and sofa seats, and the kitchenware. The overall impression remains positive, with cleanliness being satisfactory.

The location is convenient for accessing Nairn's town centre, beaches, and local attractions. However, several reviews mention road noise as a downside, which impacts the score. The property's proximity to amenities is a strong point, but the traffic noise is a notable concern.

Guests find the beds very comfortable, with the exception of one mentioned as hard and uncomfortable. The spaciousness and layout of the property contribute to the overall comfort, but the persistent road noise and a damp smell in part of the house have led to a slightly reduced score.

The house is well-equipped with a notable exception of a microwave, which several guests missed. There are also suggestions for more wardrobe space and larger towels. While the property offers good facilities overall, these points of feedback suggest room for improvement.

While guests have expressed overall satisfaction with their stay, there is no mention of gifts or special touches that would indicate thoughtfulness. Therefore, it is not possible to provide a score in this category.

This wasn’t where we were meant to be staying as our original booking cancelled us on route, so we were very grateful to the housekeeper allowing our the very last minute booking. They turned it around very quickly giving us a place to stay for the week. This was a lovely big house, nice big open plan kitchen diner, very clean and well laid out. The beds were comfortable, the showers were nice and powerful, the family loved the place, even the dog settled straight away, it was a home from home. There were lots of places to get food locally, and a very local petrol station for anything you had forgotten to pick up before settling in for the night. The only down side is that it is on such a busy road, the windows ideally require replacement as the road noise was constant both day and night as if a window was left open which made for a very unsettled night sleep.

This was our second stay at Reay House and we shall be returning again next year. The property affords spacious accommodation and is clean and tidy. We always feel immediately at home there. A microwave oven in the kitchen would be a useful addition and those with mobility issues may find the 10-15 minute walk into the centre of Nairn a little daunting. That aside, I would highly recommend a stay here and we look forward to our visit in 2026.

We loved the space and comfort of Raey House. You do hear the toad noise from front bedrooms but the location is so convenient it definitely outweighs that.
