Douglas Fir is a well-regarded cottage offering a comfortable and cosy stay, with high cleanliness standards and attentive hosts. Its proximity to the A9 makes it an ideal base for exploring the Highlands. Guests appreciate the well-equipped facilities, stunning views, and the additional touches provided by the hosts.
Guests consistently note the high standard of cleanliness, even with the allowance of dogs, indicating meticulous maintenance between stays.
The cottage's location is praised for its stunning surroundings and convenience for exploring the Highlands, with easy access to local walks and the A9.
The cottage is described as comfortable and cosy, with a warm welcome and a log fire. The only minor drawback mentioned is the preference for a larger bed by one guest.
Facilities are generally well-received, with a special mention of reliable WiFi. However, some guests were surprised by additional costs for certain amenities like the sauna and laundry.
While guests mention a welcome gift pack, there is insufficient information to assess consistency or guarantee of such gestures, and thus the score is set to null. It's worth noting that while such thoughtful touches are appreciated, they may not be a standard offering for every stay.

The following are minor points. The pillows were too soft for the men in our party. There was nowhere to hang damp towels.

Even the surroundings and trails around the property are beautiful. I had zero problems with the WiFi when having to work from home, and those were 2 laptops online at the same time. Really enjoyed this stay and would love to come back!

We had a lovely stay and Adam and Leanne were fantastic hosts. Would definitely recommend and we hope to stay again. The only negative is that there isn't a king sized bed in the property, it is a double bed in the master bedroom.
