Kestrel Cottage is absolutely beautiful and in a gorgeous setting. The house itself has been completed and is looked after to a high standard, and the views from the hot tub can't easily be rivalled.I've only marked the local amenities as average as it's very remote, however, that's the charm of the place. There is a Spar shop in the village (3.5 miles) and local towns only a short drive away.The owner met us shortly after we arrived with helpful suggestions for exploring the area and then very much left us to it. The welcome basket was lovely too.It's a great base to explore the East coast of the Highlands, with Ben Bhraggie in Goslpie, the beach at Durness, and the Around Rogart Trail being highlights for us.We would absolutely love to return some day.
