Guests say

Gorrie's Lair is a well-received cottage, praised for its cleanliness, comfort, and beautiful location. Guests appreciate the thoughtful touches, including a welcome basket, and find it an excellent base for exploring the Highlands. While most reviews are positive, a few guests suggest improvements in facilities and mention maintenance issues.

The majority of guests report the cottage as spotlessly clean and fresh, contributing to a welcoming atmosphere. However, one review citing issues with cobwebs and a smell of mould suggests there is room for improvement.

The location is highly praised for its tranquillity and proximity to local attractions, making it an ideal spot for exploring the Scottish scenery, with many guests looking forward to returning.

Guests find the cottage comfortable, with special mentions of cosy beds and a warm environment. The comfort of the cottage contributes significantly to the positive experiences of the visitors.

While the cottage is generally well-equipped, some guests suggest the addition of a freezer, washing machine, and better outdoor seating. There are also mentions of a need for better instructions for the TV and an extractor fan in the bathroom.

The welcome pack and other extras are frequently mentioned and appreciated, indicating a high level of thoughtfulness. However, it should be noted that such gifts, while delightful, are subject to change and not guaranteed.

It is a lovely two bedroom/two bathroom holiday cottage in a large and tranquil secluded garden near Spean Bridge. Easy access by car from the cottage into nearby Fort William and the West Highlands. The towels provided in the cottage were a bit small and flimsy so my suggestion would be for improved towel provision please. We knew in advance there would be no freezer/washing machine and planned accordingly and managed without although if these were made available then that would be a real bonus.

Beautiful place with beautiful surroundings. Close to lots of beautiful places to visit. Small improvements would be a washing machine instead of a dishwasher. Windows that open in the bedrooms that can be left open safely through the night.

Really comfortable and well located. Only thing that would be handy, unless we didn’t find them, is some kitchen scales.
