Discover the open-plan living space where you can rustle up a feast within the kitchen, utilising the electric oven, gas hob, microwave and fridge/freezer, while the dining area is perfect for enjoying family mealtimes. Settle down on the sofa, tuning into the wall-mounted TV or catching up on your favourite book. The village of Stein is four miles away and boasts a fantastic seafood restaurant, plus The Stein Inn, which is reputed to be the oldest tavern on Skye. Further afield lies the small town of Dunvegan, best known for Dunvegan Castle, but also offering a selection of pubs, cafés and restaurants, along with a post office where you can grab the essentials. The entire island is rich with places to visit and things to do, whether you want to walk up the Cuillins, take a boat trip, cycle on the fantastic forestry tracks or simply sit back and admire the wildlife, you will not be disappointed. If you’re looking to escape from it all, a holiday at Woodburn Cottage is sure to satisfy. EPC Rating: Band E

Dunvegan is a small community in Skye's northwestern corner, with a mix of old stone and modern buildings, as well as a few stores and hotels. Dunvegan Castle, about a mile from the hamlet, is home to the Clan MacLeod, who have lived there since the 13th century. The legendary Three Chimneys Restaurant, a must-see for all foodies, is only four miles away, and the highly popular Old School Restaurant, a ten-minute walk away, is well worth a visit. The Cullin Mountains, with their spectacular rock formations and pinnacles, are also nearby, and many climbers would put them at the top of their list. Other attractions on the Isle include the Talisker Distillery and Portree, the island's only town, which is built around its natural port and offers a wide selection of shops, hotels, and restaurants, as well as popular Sea Eagle tours from the pier.

We were made very welcome with lots of information given to us. The cottage was lovely and cosy, the bed extremely comfortable and those views! We had everything we needed apart from, bizarrely, a toaster, so had to use the grill for our toast and crumpets! The owner had bought a new router for the wi-fi but we couldn't get it to work, however we didn't want to bother him so made do without. The location is quite remote so be prepared for a long drive to the main road and do check out the ruined church which you can see from the property - it has a lot of history attached to it. All in all, a wonderful stay on this magical island which we keep going back to.
