A pretty, traditional fisherman’s cottage with views over the harbour, just a few minutes from the lovely beach at Findochty.
Occupying a great position overlooking the tranquil marina in the delightful village of Findochty on the Moray Firth Coast, this traditional semi-detached fisherman’s cottage has been tastefully renovated to a very comfortable standard, with a cosy open fire in the living area, and patio doors leading from the kitchen area to the raised, fully enclosed terrace.

Sailing and fishing enthusiasts can relax and enjoy the comings and goings in the marina, and watch the crabs being landed from the terrace. There is a lovely pub with views, just 300 yards away on the harbour front, which serves food and takeaway meals. It is family friendly, and pet friendly in the bar area only.

Breathtaking beach and clifftop walks from the village form part of the Moray Coast Trail and take you into Buckie, Portknockie and Cullen where there are more pubs, restaurants, takeaways and shops within 3 miles. There are sandy beaches and coves with plenty of fishing heritage and sea life to explore beyond the marina, and a challenging 18-hole golf course 1 mile west of the village. With activities such as walking, sailing, fishing, diving, cycling, whale watching and golf available, there is much to do locally.

During the summer, the daylight hours are very long providing every opportunity to enjoy the quality of the local scenery, and when the conditions allow, witness the amazing northern lights. The spectacular coastline ranges from steep cliffs with little fishing villages strung out at the base to fantastic sandy beaches, especially at Cullen, and also Nairn and Lossiemouth further west.

There are many historic castles and gardens to explore including the spectacular ruined Findlater, the Joiner’s Workshop in Fordyce and Duff House in Banff. Whisky and castle trails are further inland starting with the Glenglassaugh distillery just 7½ miles away. A boat trip to see the dolphins and seals is a must, and the many neighbouring little villages have a treasure trove of antique and curios shops as well as coffee shops and restaurants, offering fine local food and seasonal produce. A true jewel in the Moray Firth Coastline, Findochty ensures a memorable holiday any time of the year, and on Thursdays, the fish and chip van visits! Beach 300 yards. Shop and pub 300 yards.

"The best equipped cottage ever in the most idyllic location with lots of little extra touches. Most comfortable and excellent standard of cleanliness. Would not hesitate to recommend. Keep up the good work and thanks again, Steve & Mandy."
    Kathy – 6 Sep 2018
"Steve & Mandy made our holiday fantastic because they made me, my family and our little puppy so welcome in their beautiful home. We can't wait to go again in 2019 😊👌"

"S60333 is a fabulous, warm and welcoming holiday cottage. Very comfortable, excellent heating, great kitchen and the outlook onto the harbour is lovely. The bedrooms are very comfy and spacious as are the bathrooms. The utility room is a nice extra touch. The kitchen is very well equipped and well stocked, we didn’t lack for anything. The welcome basket was generous as were the bathroom essentials that you may forget to pack. Although Findochty is a small fishing village, the area is well located to visit attractions. Findhorn Sands is an absolute must, Spey Bay Dolphin Centre is worthy of a visit or two. There is a big supermarket less than 10 mins drive plus a small shop in the village. If you are looking for a relaxing break in very comfortable surroundings with lots of places to visit/walk, then we would recommend S60333 - one of the best holiday cottages we have ever stayed in."
    Liz – 30 Jul 2018
"We had a lovely holiday at S60333 cottage and were delighted with the hospitality shown from the owners. The location was perfect, being able to sit out and watch the activity in the harbour and also the fantastic sunsets. So relaxing."
    Miriam – 20 Jul 2018
"We had such a lovely week at S60333. The Cottage was beautiful, tastefully done with everything in it that a family and their four legged friends would need. We arrived to a lovely personalised welcome pack which included flowers, milk, treats for dogs and children as well as jar full of chocolate biscuits. The Cottage is spacious, spotless clean, very well equipped, and comfortable. The location is truly stunning and you can literally throw a stone into the water from the front door! Therefore, making it literally impossible to be nearer the sea. The local folk were lovely, there was so much to see and do in the surrounding area, but to be honest you don't really need to leave the your own doorstep. The weather was kind to us and our children loved it and spent their days on the surrounding beaches and their evenings in the harbour in front of our door paddling about in an inflatable canoe. The dogs were in heaven too and frankly so were we. In short we absolutely loved it!"
    Stephen – 9 Jul 2018
"Owner was very helpful and went the extra mile to assist us, because of our late arrival.10/10 Thank you to Mandy and Steve."
    Roger – 26 Jun 2018
"What a place to stay, for our sort of holiday seeing the local knowledge it was excellent. It was like home from home, comfortable beds and plenty of bathroom features. Will stay the there again. A good view over the harbour. Relaxing holiday, weather could have warmer but the stay was great."
    Maureen – 28 May 2018
"An amazing house fantastic views very clean and handy for the pub."
