About this property

Resting peacefully on the Scottish coast in the former fishing village of Findhorn, you will find High Beach. Exuding character and charm through its original features, this traditional yet fully modernised old fisherman's cottage offers an idyllic setting for a family escape to the coast. With stunning bay views, yet easily accessible from Forres train station (5 miles away) as well as Inverness Airport (40 minutes away), you'll find yourself ready to relax on the terrace with a glass of bubbly in no time. Be welcomed into the homely sitting room and admire the magnificent exposed stone wall that surround an eye-catching woodburning stove, as you relax with a movie on the TV with the DVD player. Make your way into the country-style kitchen/diner and discover an abundance of handy appliances such as the contemporary double electric oven and sleek induction hob, perfect for showing off your culinary skills as you prepare a hearty home-cooked meal while making the most of the SONOS music system to enjoy some tunes while you cook. Take a seat at the pretty walnut dining table, keeping warm from the heat of the electric stove as you indulge in a fantastic family feast and discuss plans for the duration of your stay. Step out into the terrace over-looking the bay and embrace the salty sea air, or enjoy a warm summer evening out in rear courtyard where you can delight in dinner alfresco. Settle down for the evening in the ground-floor super-king-size bedroom following a refreshing rinse under the shower in the ground-floor shower room, or venture up to the first floor to find a further two bedrooms. An inviting super-king-size bedroom has been beautifully decorated with a striking and ornate bed, whilst the delightful double bedroom is complete with a tranquil en-suite bathroom boasting a fabulous free-standing bath with quirky wallpaper featuring colourful fish. Make the most of your time by the coast with days spent participating in new and exciting water sports such as sailing, paddle boarding or kayaking down at the marina, or lounging on the soft white sands of Findhorn Beach as you soak up the sun and enjoy a mouth-watering portion of fish and chips, or head to the local delicatessen, serving fresh produce and vegan treats. Just on the other side of the bay, you'll find Culbin Forest, part of 'Culbin Sands, Forest and Findhorn Bay'; a huge area of coast and countryside and an SSSI in Moray, stretching from just east of Nairn eastwards to Findhorn and its bay - great for enjoying the wildlife and scenery with its various walking and cycling routes. Head further inland to explore the breath-taking scenery of the Cairngorms National Park, perfect for delighting in a scenic nature hike along off-beaten tracks or uncovering enchanting landmarks such as Aviemore Ring Cairn and Stone Circle, before grabbing a bite to eat at one of the many local cafés. For the avid golfer, High Beach is perfect, as great golf courses are within a short distance, such as Forres Golf Club, Kinloss Country Golf Club and in Nairn, the choice between Nairn Dunbar Golf Club, The Nairn Golf Club and the North District Golf Association. See exotic wildlife at the Highland Wildlife Park, or spend the day in the historic city of Inverness exploring imposing castles and grand cathedrals before returning to your holiday home for a quiet night indoors. For the ultimate break by the Scottish Seaside, be sure to stay at High Beach. EPC Rating: Band F
