Guests say

Guests generally enjoyed their stays at The Barn, appreciating its peaceful location, proximity to beaches and local pub, and comfortable bedding. While some minor maintenance issues were noted, the property's charm and the area's natural beauty contributed to a pleasant holiday experience.

The property was described as clean by several guests, though some noted issues with mould in the shower tray and grease on kitchen surfaces. The cleanliness appears to be satisfactory overall, but there is room for improvement.

The location is highly praised for its tranquility, nearby beaches, and local amenities such as the Lagg Inn and distillery. The scenic surroundings and ease of access to walks contribute to a high score.

Guests found the beds comfortable and the cottage cosy, although some mentioned the beds being too soft and issues with hot water supply. The presence of two bathrooms was appreciated for privacy.

Facilities were generally well-received, with the property being well-equipped. However, several reviews mentioned broken garden furniture, issues with appliances, and a need for maintenance, indicating that some attention is required.

While some guests expected a welcome pack based on the property description, it was frequently not provided. As there are no consistent mentions of thoughtful gestures or gifts, a score cannot be accurately given.

Cottage internally good, directions over the Ross nerve racking. External garden area fencing poorly maintained, front gate hanging off hinge ,not secure, neighbour next door has junk lying out over fence. The description externally does not tie up as cars parked outside kitchen window, the sea view is in the far distance, the pub is a wee bit to walk and not safe as you have to walk back up an incline with no pavement. The shop is in a community hall where you serve yourself and no cafe as such disappointing to say the least.

We enjoyed our stay at The Barn. There are good walks from the cottage. Details need updating as a welcome pack was mentioned but there wasn't one. Also logs for the fire but only one log & no kindling.

The Barn was well equipped and clean and we enjoyed our stay there. We found the beds really comfy and there’s a shower downstairs and a bath with shower attachment upstairs. The Lagg Inn is a 10 minute walk and the beach is a 10 to 15 minute walk. The Lagg Inn is very welcoming and dog friendly too so it was a good local for us.The garden at the property is secure for small dogs but not sure it would be for bigger dogs. The outside area isn’t big, really just a gravel drive with a decking area at one end. As other reviewers have said, the garden furniture is in need of some attention and is very wobbly and doesn’t feel completely safe.
