Smiddy Cottage is a three-bedroom pet friendly bungalow set in the hamlet of Shanzie near the Town of Alyth and Glen Isla. The cottage has a large, secluded garden surrounded by woods with plenty of walks straight out of the door, you can walk to the river Isla and with spectacular views across to the Sidlaw Hills. The bungalow was built by the current owners and all the rooms are amply proportioned, there is an open fire in the lounge and with the main rooms being south facing it’s a great space to chill out, unwind and enjoy time with family and friends.

We absolutely loved Smidddy Cottage. The location was idyllic, the accommodation was spacious and quality. We especially enjoyed having a real fire and havoling breakfast in the comservatory watching the rain.One negative was the lack of hot water in one of the bathrooms and the walk in shower had a tendency to overflow.Apart from this it was great value for money and a well equipped retreat. Would definitely return.

We’ve just returned after3 wonderful weeks in this cottage it was very well equipped even down to cotton buds were supplied on our 12 hour drive to get there we said we wouldn’t do it again but once there we’ve definitely changed our minds we will be going back it was so quiet peaceful relaxing everything you would want or need for a holiday could not praise this cottage enough our 3 small dogs (they were even catered for) loved it also a wonderful welcome pack awaited us . Also got a Tesco home delivery .
