Smiddy Cottage is a three-bedroom pet friendly bungalow set in the hamlet of Shanzie near the Town of Alyth and Glen Isla. The cottage has a large, secluded garden surrounded by woods with plenty of walks straight out of the door, you can walk to the river Isla and with spectacular views across to the Sidlaw Hills. The bungalow was built by the current owners and all the rooms are amply proportioned, there is an open fire in the lounge and with the main rooms being south facing it’s a great space to chill out, unwind and enjoy time with family and friends.

This is a very homely and dog friendly cottage. The location is lovely in the beautiful Perthshire countryside with great views and lots of lovely walks near at hand. The cottage has everything we needed with a lovely patio area for sunny weather and a nice conservatory bit to sit in on rainy days. We saw red squirrels, deer, a heron and lots of other birds. The kitchen could perhaps do with a slight upgrade but it had everything we needed and lots of crockery and cutlery. This was our third visit and we would both recommend it and visit it again.

We had a great stay at Smiddy cottage, it has a small conservatory where you can watch some local wildlife. The location is rural so a car or other forms of transport is essential to get about.
