Warm and cosy. A few maintenance issues need seeing too (more for the good of the building than guests) Christmas tree was a great touch for Xmas break. Would use again

No TV. Beds older than me as are mattresses.heating comes on at an 11pm ? instructed not to adjust it.walls covered in splashes.uncovered pipework in toilets not safe for children.water damage on ceilings.half the lights don't work mould and grime on fittings in bathrooms.dead fly's in every room .chimney must be blocked as fires would not drawer hence smelly of smoke on arrival.place needs a massive deep clean and updating before anyone else has to endure any of this.i have read reviews from as far back as 2013 but thought most must have been addressed due to photos on website how wrong could we be.booked for 7 nights came away after 2 SHOCKING.

The immediate surroundings are very enjoyable to explore. However, the lodge is in need of much maintenance (chimney partially blocked, out-of-date battery in one of the fire alarms, dishwasher filter needing washed, hoover was unusable and needs a replacement filter etc.). The mattresses are obviously very old and the lack of mattress covers was not very pleasant.
