Upstairs, the comfortable bedrooms are bright and fresh, comprising two king-size bedrooms, one of which benefits from a sofa, alongside a third king-size bedroom with a feature range and an en-suite shower room. For days out, visit Perth and uncover Scone Palace, stroll along the River Tay, or explore Perth Art Gallery. Venture to Dundee to discover the striking V&A Dundee and riverside attractions, or enjoy the interactive exhibits at Dundee Science Centre. Located in the heart of Scotland, the small village of Stanley sits beside the River Tay and originates back to the 1700s when it was built to house the employees of the Stanley Mills. The village offers a restaurant and a number of shops. With close proximity to the river, there are fantastic facilities for canoeing and fishing. On the outskirts of the village lies the historic Stanley Mills, recently renovated this historical attraction tells the story of the mills and the people who worked there. There is an excellent children’s adventure park. Also popular is Birnam Oak, sometimes known as Macbeth’s Oak, and its neighbour the Birnam Sycamore which are thought to the sole surviving trees of the great forest that once straddled the banks and hillsides of the River Tay. Just south of Stanley is Scotland’s the city of Perth, a buzzing cosmopolitan hub with an abundance of fine restaurants, café’s, parks and shops to explore. This wonderful city lays claim to many awards and accolades including an award for Beautiful Scotland in Bloom and the Scottish Tourism City of the Year award. The Palace of Scone is also near Perth and is well-worth a visit. The Branklyn gardens are open from April to October and feature an extensive collection of rare and unusual plants. Art lovers can visit The Fergusson Gallery, devoted to the work of one of the celebrated Scottish Colourists, John Duncan Fergusson. Dundee and St Andrews are less than an hour away.
