Waterloo Farm House receives glowing praise for its immaculate cleanliness, well-equipped facilities, and warm, welcoming hosts. Guests consistently highlight the comfortable bedrooms, secure garden ideal for dogs, and thoughtful touches throughout the property. The location is described as peaceful and perfectly situated for exploring Perthshire and beyond. While the kitchen is noted as compact for larger groups, the overall experience is overwhelmingly positive, with many guests eager to return and recommend the cottage to others.

Multiple reviews describe the property as spotlessly clean, immaculate, and beautifully maintained, with special thanks given to the housekeeper. No negative comments regarding cleanliness were noted.

Guests praise the peaceful, private setting with beautiful views and easy access to local walks and attractions. The location is considered ideal for exploring the area, with only minor mentions of needing a car for some activities.

The cottage is repeatedly described as cosy, warm, and comfortable, with high-quality beds and ensuite bedrooms. A few guests mention the main living area and kitchen may feel tight for six adults, but overall comfort is highly rated.

The property is lauded for being extremely well-equipped, from kitchen appliances to entertainment options. The secure garden and enclosed outdoor space are appreciated, especially by dog owners. The only minor drawback mentioned is the narrow kitchen for larger groups.

Guests frequently mention generous welcome packs and thoughtful touches such as toiletries and dog treats. While these gifts are highly appreciated, it should be noted that such extras are not guaranteed for every stay.

Waterloo Farm House is a traditional, stone-built, C-listed, detached cottage with a generous-sized garden, providing a wonderful place for couples, friends and families to relax and enjoy this excellent property with the added benefit of all bedrooms having ensuite bathrooms. Set in the quiet hamlet of Waterloo, it is believed that the original properties in the area were built for the soldiers returning from the Napoleonic Wars or for the widows of soldiers who did not return from the famous battle. It is thought that Waterloo Farm House was built around 1815 and in recent times was a berry farm but is no longer a working farm.

This beautiful cottage has been completely rebuilt internally to provide a modern layout and was just completed in the summer of 2019, yet still maintains its original charm and character. The welcoming and bright living/dining room has large, comfortable sofas, attractive lighting and a wood burner ensuring this space is a cosy hub for guests to gather. Leading off from the living/dining room is the kitchen, equipped with quality appliances, and a breakfast area. There are stereo ceiling speakers in all rooms providing a shared sound system throughout the house or independent music from your Bluetooth-enabled device in your room if you prefer. The back door leads to a small patio where guests can enjoy breakfast or a morning coffee. There is a large enclosed lawned garden at the front of the property with a patio and garden furniture, ideal for an impromptu barbecue.

Waterloo Farm House is in a great location for exploring this picturesque area which you can do on foot or by bike and there are lots of footpaths and quiet lanes directly from the doorstep. The village of Bankfoot is just 1 mile away, with a pavement from the cottage and is very handy for a local store or one of the two local small hotels with bars. The attractive town of Dunkeld is only 5 miles away and makes a great day out with its historic cathedral and buildings, and a good selection of quality restaurants, coffee shops, delis, interesting independent shops, galleries and walks along the River Tay. Birnam is close by and is one of the best-preserved historic towns in Scotland. Shop 1½ miles, pub and restaurant 1 mile.

We had a wonderful stay at Waterloo Farm House. The house was warm and spotless, beds were comfy and we had everything we needed, including a lovely welcoming pack. It was great having a secure garden for the dogs and we loved watching the deer in the next door field in the mornings. The location was perfect for exploring the area and we were very lucky with the weather. Thank you Wendy, Des and Jennifer for an amazing stay. We would love to return again.

Waterloo Farm is a fabulous home for a holiday. There is nothing that hasn’t been thought of. The cottage is cosy and warm, the kitchen is excellent and the bedrooms are comfortable. There was a very generous welcome back which was a nice surprise after a long journey.Everything in the property makes for a comfortable, relaxing holiday. The owners, Wendy and Des, do everything to make sure your holiday is just right. The local shop is approximately a mile and a half from the cottage and is extremely well stocked. Dunkeld is a little further but has lovely independent shops and cafes and is very welcoming.I would recommend a holiday at Waterloo Farm if you like the countryside and all that that involves.
