Located in the picturesque grounds of the historic Blair Castle, Old Blair is a perfect place for those wanting to enjoy the peaceful Perthshire countryside. Originally an inn, it has been transformed into a very comfortable and spacious property, perfect for family gatherings or a special event. Surrounded by landscaped parklands, farmland and miles of way-marked trails, the house is full of period charm, with plenty of room to spread out. Up to ten guests can sleep in the main lodge, and a further two in the connecting annexe which has it’s own separate sitting room; perfect for older children. Open fires, sash windows and oil-fired AGA in the kitchen ensure a warm and comfortable break. The extensive garden at the front of the property runs into the ruins of St. Brides Kirk and from there you can continue walking into Diana’s Grove, Hercules Garden or up into the hills of the Cairngorm National Park, where even a short stroll will provide plenty of opportunities to see ponies, deer, sheep, cattle and red squirrels.

There are a number of outdoor activities available including Vintage Tractor Tours, Highland Pony Trekking, Land Rover Safaris, a 50 mile network of off-road cycle routes, 40 miles of walking trails and free entry to Blair Castle, there’s plenty to do without even leaving the Castle grounds

For those who would like to explore slightly further afield, there are good public transport and access links to the nearby towns of Pitlochry, Aberfeldy and Dunkeld. Blair Castle has been the home of the Atholl family for over seven centuries. The castle has had a diverse history, witnessing both turbulent and peaceful times, enlarged and adapted over 750 years. Home to politicians, soldiers, agriculturalists and entrepreneurs, the family history is brought to life against a backdrop of fine 18th century interiors and Scots Baronial architecture, in 30 rooms.

The water is from a spring, well or borehole, and not a mains supply.
