Ptarmigan Lodge is consistently praised for its stunning location, cleanliness, and comfort. Guests are charmed by the wildlife, scenic views, and the peaceful environment. The lodge is well-equipped, offering a home away from home experience with thoughtful touches that enhance the stay.
Reviewers frequently mention the lodge's cleanliness, describing it as very clean and well-maintained, which suggests a high standard of cleanliness throughout the property.
The location is universally lauded for its tranquility, beautiful scenery, and proximity to wildlife. The lodge's setting on a loch with views of the hills and local fauna, including deer, is highlighted as a standout feature.
Comfort is a recurring theme, with guests finding the lodge spacious, warm, and furnished with quality in mind. The presence of ensuite bathrooms and comfortable beds are noted, contributing to the overall comfort of the stay.
The lodge is praised for being well-equipped and offering excellent facilities. However, a single mention of slow internet suggests a slight room for improvement in this otherwise highly regarded category.
Guests appreciate the thoughtful touches, such as a welcoming bottle of wine and snacks. While these gestures are warmly received, it is important to note that such personal touches, though likely, are not guaranteed for every stay.

Aberfeldy, a market town in rural Perthshire, sits on the River Tay amidst stunning landscape. Aberfeldy is famous for its relationship with Robert Burns and his poem The Birks Of Aberfeldy, as well as the bridge built for General Wade in 1733. It is located close south of Valley Lyon, which is considered as Scotland's longest, loneliest, and loveliest glen. Aside from the breathtaking environment, there is much else to entice visitors. For pedestrians and bikers, there is a 10-mile riverside walk, as well as other trails through woodland and countryside. Aberfeldy is also on the Rob Roy Way and Cycle Route 7. The River Tay's whitewater rafting is a fantastic way to take in the surroundings. Castle Menzies is a magnificent 16th century castle that has been extensively renovated and is now open to the public. On the outskirts of town, take a distillery tour at Dewar's World of Whisky. Explore the town's various bars, restaurants, and cafes, as well as the galleries and craft shops, including the Scottish Chocolate Centre. The Scottish Crannog Centre provides a view into Iron Age life, while Loch Tay provides a variety of watersports. Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park are also nearby. Within an hour's drive, there are 30 Munros just waiting to be 'bagged'!

Well equipped kitchen with everything you could want. We enjoyed lots of walking in Aberfeldy, Dunkeld, Pitlochry and also climbed Schiehallion which is close by. We loved watching the deer from the deck every day and also saw the Northern lights from the lodge. Friendly helpful owners, highly recommended, we didnât want to go home.
