Groom's Cottage in the Scottish Borders is highly praised for its tranquil and secluded setting, offering a warm welcome with thoughtful touches. Guests appreciate the well-maintained property, its proximity to local attractions, and the comfort it provides. While some minor issues are noted, the overall sentiment is extremely positive, with many guests planning return visits.
Most guests found the cottage clean and comfortable, with only a few isolated comments about cleanliness issues such as a dirty oven and dusty areas. The positive remarks far outweigh the negatives, indicating high standards of cleanliness overall.
The location is consistently lauded for its peacefulness, rural charm, and convenience for exploring the Scottish Borders and Northumberland. Its proximity to walking trails, the coast, and local amenities contributes to its high rating.
Guests frequently mention the cottage's cosiness and warmth, with comfortable furnishings and a relaxing atmosphere. Some concerns about heating and creaky floorboards are noted, but overall, the cottage is regarded as a comfortable retreat.
The cottage is well-equipped for guests' needs, with mentions of good kitchen facilities and two bathrooms. However, there are comments about inadequate WiFi, limited crockery, and maintenance of outdoor areas, suggesting room for improvement in facilities and upkeep.
Guests frequently express gratitude for the thoughtful gestures such as welcome packs with tea, coffee, and biscuits. While these gifts are appreciated, it is important to note that such personal touches, though common, are not guaranteed for every stay.

Lots of areas to explore locally for walks if you have a four-legged friend with you. There was an issue with the fridge and freezer but this was sorted within 20mins of letting them know. Amazing cottage and we would love to book again if we are back in the area. Thank you x x
