Beautiful, quiet base from which to explore east Scotland and Northumberland. Proximity to A1 made travel easy. Our hosts were welcoming and the cottage was comfortable, with small thoughtful details provided and everything we could want for a group of six.

Fairlaw Garden Cottage is a lovely place to stay. Beautifully decorated and full of character, in a really stunning setting. The cottage is thoughtfully laid out and made us feel at home straight away.It has everything you will need. There were even fresh flowers in every room, from the owners garden. The weather wasn't the best while we were there, but in spite of that, we were never bored, with Coldingham, St Abbs and Berwick a short drive away. The cottage also has bookcases full of books, and plenty of DVDs and board games to keep you occupied. We even baked cookies one afternoon because the kitchen is so fully equipped, it included baking utensils. In better weather the cottage has its own mature couryard garden which would be a lovely place to have a coffee. We loved it so much, we didn't want to leave at the end of our stay, and we will definitely be back!
