Guests say

Fairlaw Garden Cottage is highly praised for its cosy, comfortable atmosphere and scenic countryside location with convenient access to the A1 for exploring. The well-equipped kitchen, peaceful setting, and private garden are standout features. Guests appreciate the warm welcome from the host and the property's suitability for both family gatherings and day trips to Edinburgh.

There is no specific mention of cleanliness in the reviews, so we cannot provide an accurate score for this category.

The cottage's location is celebrated for its excellent access to the A1, making it easy to explore the area. Its proximity to a local pub, village train station, and Edinburgh for day trips, as well as non-touristy beaches, contributes to its high score.

Guests find the cottage warm and comfortable, with cosy bedrooms and a suntrap garden. The upside-down layout with daylight flooding the living areas and the thoughtful curtain design add to the overall comfort.

The property is well-equipped with top-notch appliances, two bathrooms, and access to a beautiful paddock. The unique 'upside down' layout and sufficient bathrooms for all guests indicate well-maintained facilities.

While guests express appreciation for the host's welcoming and helpful nature, there is no mention of gifts, so we cannot assess the thoughtfulness in terms of gifts and must set this score to null. However, the host's amiability and informative approach are noted.

We had a great week in this excellent value for money cosy cottage in the Scottish countryside. Excellent access to the A1 meant that we were able to explore the area easily. The cottage was a warm and comfortable place to return to in the evenings. The owner was very friendly and we would be happy to recommend to other. The local pub was fantastic and the nearby village has a train station with easy access to Edinburgh, which was great for a day trip out.

Lovely property - one of my greatest triumphs in terms of selection. Beds comfy and two bathrooms a bonus. Brilliant kitchen if you want to cook at the end of a day - appliances all top notch. Peaceful countryside location with the absolute bonus of acces to a beautiful paddock (beautifully maintained) if you want a kick-around or just want to stretch your legs. Acces to A1 and beyond quick and easy so you are in no-way isolated - we had the best of both worlds visiting Edinburgh and local cracking but non-touristy beaches. Whilst shared with the main house the property has its own acces and you have ultimate privacy. Little enclosed garden which was a sheltered suntrap during recent storm. Our host added an extra touch of clas to proceedings and was very amiable informative and down to earth. The kids say 'hi' to Chilli and Olive!
