Island View is a spacious and beautifully situated cottage with breathtaking views over the Firth of Clyde and the Isle of Arran. Guests consistently praise the large, comfortable bedrooms, well-equipped kitchen, and relaxing features such as the hot tub, sauna, and cinema room. The local pub and village amenities are highly rated, and the property is ideal for families and groups. While a few guests noted occasional maintenance or cleanliness issues, the overall experience is overwhelmingly positive, with many planning to return.
Most guests found the property clean and well-presented, with particular mention of spotless bedrooms and communal areas. However, a small number of reviews highlighted issues such as dirty kitchen cupboards, plates, and skirting boards, as well as a blocked dishwasher, which slightly lowers the score.
The location is frequently described as stunning, with panoramic sea views and easy access to the village, local pub, and public transport. Guests appreciated the tranquil setting and proximity to Ayr and local attractions.
Guests consistently praised the spaciousness, comfortable beds, and relaxing atmosphere. The house is well-suited for large groups and families, with ample room and cosy features contributing to a restful stay.
The property offers excellent facilities, including a hot tub, sauna, cinema room, and large garden. Most guests enjoyed these amenities, though a few experienced issues with the hot tub, TVs, or Sky, and suggested minor improvements such as a welcome pack or replacement kitchen items.
Several guests mentioned thoughtful touches such as festive decorations, a bottle of fizz, and locally made chocolates. While these gestures were appreciated, it should be noted that such gifts are not guaranteed for every stay.

Despite mixed weather my group of family and friends had a relaxing holiday here. Local bus stopping hourly at front door was so helpful… saving in parking concerns and fuel on day trips. Highly recommend the Harbourside Cafe… excellent service and quality food… great variety on menu. A replacement grater would assist future guests.

2nd time there. Found the cleanliness a bit disappointing. Carboards dirty in kitchen, plates dirty, skirtings dirty and dishwasher I had to unblock. We love the location and facilities, but was unhappy with some of the detail within the house.

The property is very well equipped and has a fantastic location overlooking the Firth of Clyde with views over to the Isle of Arran. Adequate parking and very comfortable with the heating provided via a Bio Mass Boiler. Completed with a dry Sauna and Hot Tub on the roof with access from the Cinema area. Otherwise all amenities are on the ground floor.
