On the ground floor there are two bedrooms (king and twin beds - which can also be made up as a super king) and a bathroom with separate bath and walk in shower. Upstairs we have two more bedrooms (king and twin beds) and a shower room. There is a third bathroom off the utility room with a bath and shower over, and a spacious porch area with plenty of space for wellies, dogs and fishing rods.

On your doorstep, there are over 200 acres of woodland, garden and river walks to explore, and a large variety of birdlife and roe deer to observe, three miles away is the harbour town of Girvan — a great spot for sightseeing on the Ayrshire coast, fishing, boat trips, family activities, places to eat and shopping, and within half an hour of three championship golf courses. Ayrshire is a beautiful region in southwest Scotland, renowned for its stunning coastline, historic sites, and outdoor activities. One of the most iconic attractions is Culzean Castle, perched dramatically on a cliff overlooking the Firth of Clyde. This magnificent castle, with its beautifully landscaped gardens, woodland trails, and beaches, is perfect for a family day out. Explore the grand rooms, take a scenic walk along the coastal paths, or enjoy a picnic in the gardens. Another must-visit is Dumfries House, an 18th-century stately home surrounded by stunning gardens and woodlands. With guided tours showcasing exquisite interiors, an adventure playground for children, and lovely walking routes, it’s a fantastic spot for all ages.

For outdoor enthusiasts, the Ayrshire Coastal Path offers breathtaking views of the coastline. Stretching 100 miles from Glenapp to Skelmorlie, it’s ideal for walking or cycling, with opportunities to spot wildlife such as seals, seabirds, and even dolphins. Ayrshire is also home to charming towns like Ayr, Troon, and Prestwick, known for their sandy beaches, vibrant promenades, and bustling cafes and restaurants. Golf enthusiasts can enjoy world-class golf courses, including the renowned Royal Troon and Turnberry. For island adventures, take a day trip to the Isle of Arran or the Isle of Cumbrae. Arran, often referred to as “Scotland in Miniature,” offers hiking, wildlife watching, and historical landmarks like Brodick Castle. In contrast, Cumbrae is perfect for cycling around its scenic coastal route or exploring the quaint town of Millport. With its mix of history, scenic beauty, and outdoor activities, Ayrshire provides a memorable holiday experience for all.

We were a party of 6 adults, 2 children and a baby so this large house was the perfect accomodation for us all. The house was fitted out to a very high standard and its location in a lovely and well maintained countryside estate was very impressive. The weather for all of our five days was perfect so we had the opportunity to explore part of the estate and we particularly liked the lily pond, the walled garden and the children liked playing Pooh Sticks on the nearby foot bridge. Girvan was only a 15 minute drive away for esplanade walks, a sandy beach and a great childrens playpark, as well as a well-stocked small Asda for provisions. In summary, we had a memorable family get together in this superb property.
