Guests say

Garden House at Culzean Castle is highly praised for its peacefulness, stunning location, and cleanliness. Guests enjoy the well-appointed amenities, beautiful grounds, and the charm of the property. While some minor maintenance issues and a lack of certain supplies are noted, these do not detract significantly from the overall positive experiences. The property is ideal for families and nature lovers, offering a comfortable and memorable stay.

The property is consistently described as clean and well-kept, with only one mention of a missing dustpan and brush, which does not significantly impact the overall perception of cleanliness.

The location is universally lauded for its beauty and tranquility within the Culzean estate, with abundant opportunities for walking and exploring. The proximity to historical sites adds to its appeal.

The cottage is generally regarded as comfortable, though some guests mention a small double bed and the lack of a stair gate for children. These are minor concerns in the context of otherwise positive feedback.

Facilities are well-received, with mentions of a well-equipped kitchen and lovely outdoor sitting areas. However, points are deducted for minor maintenance issues such as missing pictures, fire tools, and a footstool, as well as a lack of basic supplies like logs and toiletries.

There is no mention of gifts or special touches that would indicate thoughtfulness from the hosts, so it is not possible to provide a score in this category.

Maybole, the former capital of Carrick, has a documented history that dates back to the 1100s. The towering town hall of the 19th century and the impressive Maybole Castle, thought to have been constructed in 1560, make the main street particularly outstanding. Once renowned for its shoe production, the community now offers a variety of stores and pubs, as well as a conspicuous orange-stone parish church with a very eccentric design. The beautiful Ayrshire shoreline is easily accessible, and the capital of Burns Country, the bustling market town of Ayr, with its many amenities, is only 5 miles away. 10 miles away, Galloway Forest offers wonderful walking options, and 12 miles away, Culzean Bay, with its majestic castle and lovely gardens, is a mesmerising destination. We loved the break! Like a home from home! Super cozy! The most wonderful views of the walled garden. This cottage is set in the most beautiful location! Only downside was that there were quite a few wasps and lots of flies I know we are in the middle of the forest! I did expect some insects and creepy Crawlies but we noticed there seemed to be some kind of wasp nests on the outside of the kitchen window backing on the the walled garden! Onced we covered over some holes at the top of the windows we didn’t have many of them flying around. Would still recommend though as once we sorted we could relax a little more.
