Guests say

Duck Bay Cottage 1 is a well-received holiday rental with stunning views and a location that guests find perfect. The property is praised for its lovely decor, comfortable bedrooms, and thoughtful welcome packs. The hot tub is a popular feature, although some maintenance issues were noted. The kitchen, however, is consistently highlighted as needing an update. Despite this, the overall experience is positive, with many guests expressing a desire to return.

The property is generally described as clean, with clean bathrooms and towels provided. However, there was a mention of a mop bucket with dirty water left near the hot tub, slightly affecting the score.

The location is highly praised for its stunning views across the loch and proximity to local amenities, making it an ideal spot for guests.

Guests find the cottage comfortable, with well-presented rooms and super comfy beds. The presence of a travel cot and pull-out bed adds to the comfort for families.

While the hot tub and garden facilities are appreciated, the kitchen's dated appearance and maintenance issues with the hot tub and electric gates lower the score in this category.

The welcome packs are mentioned positively, indicating thoughtfulness. However, it should be noted that such gifts are a kind gesture and may not be guaranteed for every stay.

Wonderful accommodation - the house surpassed our expectations it was a real home away from home. The private drive felt very secluded, it was secure enough for our dog and the house had everything we really needed, with a perfect welcome basket on arrival. We spent Christmas there and kitchen was equipped enough to pull off Xmas dinner and the whole place felt really cosy and the view to wake up to was incredible right on the loch, especially as the outside had been decorated with fairy lights. The inside was not decorated for Xmas unfortunately so we had to bring our own tree (kids couldn’t wake up not to a tree on Xmas morning) and a few decs/lights for inside which did give it a lovely feel. Everything in the house was very clean and higher end. The only issue we had was with the hot tub - could not use it after a couple of days as the water went murky quickly and felt unclean (despite everyone having showered before use), so I think there was a maintenance issue with the chemicals or filter as we’ve stayed at places with hot tubs many times and never had such an issue, unsure if this was looked at over due to the Christmas holiday but left it unusable unfortunately - did inform the property they said they would look into it but have not heard further. Would not hesitate to recommend the cottages - and there is an adjoining one if wanting to book for more people. Idea place for a gathering.

Exactly as planned very happy. The welcome package was great and the cottage view was stunning. Nothing.

Rented both cottages as a family group of 9, aged 14-80. Beautiful location, plenty of parking, lovely hot tubs and very comfortably/tastefully decorated. Beds are super comfy and kitchens are well equipped. Each had a ground floor double bedroom so good for those with mobility issues. Lots of garden space front and back. Might be trickier for a group of friends as only one bathroom in each. Only slight bugbear was that there could be more hanging/drawer space given we all had wet swimming gear and towels from the hot tubs, plus normal bathroom towels etc; we all had pretty heavy coats/scarves/hats for the wet weather and there weren't many hooks/hangers in the bedrooms for day-to-day stuff either. Had a lovely cocktail on our last night at the Duck Bay Hotel which we'd recommend too. Would definitely stay here again.
