This cheerful holiday home is located on a working farm in rural North Lanarkshire and serves as an excellent retreat for a large group of family or friends keen to get away from it all. The property is surrounded by scenic forest trails you can explore by foot or bike. There’s also a rich local mining heritage that’s sure to fascinate history aficionados. You’ll have essential amenities within 1 mile in the village of Fauldhouse, and there’s a gin distillery in Forth for sampling locally made spirits. With space for eight humans and two dogs, it’s a wonderful spot for a multi-generational family trip or holiday among friends and their offspring.
This single-storey cottage is decorated in a cheerful and homely style, with plenty of wooden accents and tasteful artwork on the walls. Look out for the Scotland-themed soft furnishings and accessories – a thistle here, a tartan print there – which pay homage to your host nation. It’s lovely and spacious so your group has plenty of space to spread out, and dual-aspect windows in some rooms offer plenty of light. Decorative touches like floral curtains and lamps add appeal to the space.
Upon entering, you'll find yourself in a luminous and welcoming foyer which leads to all the rooms. There’s a large well-equipped kitchen for cooking up family feasts, decked out in pretty blue tiles for an appealing look. The lounge/diner offers panoramic views over the garden and surrounding fields. This room provides a comfy setting for unwinding, whether you're watching a film on the Smart TV after a day of exploration or reading a chapter or two of a good book. The property features three generously sized zip-and-link bedrooms. Two of the bedrooms come with en-suite bathrooms, while a Jack and Jill-style family bathroom serves as a third option for washing and showering.
In fine weather, you’ll love making the most of the large front garden, where children and dogs can let off steam on the lawn. The gravel parking area provides space for up to four vehicles. A compact rear yard also offers seating and overlooks the sweeping open fields – a wonderful spot for enjoying a nightcap or morning cup of coffee before heading out for the day.
