Boasting spacious and well-presented accommodation, Dun na Cille is perfect for families with children with extensive and enclosed gardens safe for them to run around with an attractive decking area, perfect for the parents to sit and chill with their favourite tipple while they watch the kids happily run around the gardens. Inside, the accommodation is presented to an extremely high standard and this is obvious from the get-go as you step into the gorgeous sitting room which comes complete with a feature vaulted ceiling, wood flooring, floor-to-ceiling windows and an attractive woodburning stove.

Just the perfect setting for curling up and admiring the panoramic views from the cottage whilst enjoying quality time together as a family. There’s nowhere better to be when the sun sets so grab a drink, snuggle up on the sofa and enjoy! If you want an alternative space to chill out away from the hustle and bustle of the house then take a seat on the mezzanine level. The views are just as good from here! The cool and contemporary kitchen has everything you need to produce healthy, hearty fayre for the whole family and is a wonderfully sociable space for eating, drinking and relaxing.

When bedtime calls, take your pick from the easily accessible ground-floor bedroom suite which as well as the spacious bedroom has a fantastic roll-top bath perfect for enjoying a long, hot soak; or take the stairs to either of the two first-floor super-king-size bedrooms which offer ample and elegant space and are an idyllic place to wake up in the morning. Whilst spending time at Dun na Cille is something special, you’ll want to get out exploring while you’re here too. Right on the doorstep there is fishing on the loch; Askernish Golf Course and Kildonan Museum are a short but scenic drive from the property.

Head south from the house and cross over to Eriskay, a small but perfectly formed island measuring some three miles in length with some stunning scenery, beaches, wildlife and heritage to discover. Lochboisdale is a short drive and has loads of activities on offer including shops, cafes and restaurants and some wonderful beaches. Calmac Ferries operates to South Uist from Mallaig or Uig on Skye or you can fly to Benbecula. A stay at Dun na Cille promises the very best the Outer Hebrides has to offer.

Daliburgh is a town on South Uist in the Outer Hebrides and is known for being a crofting town. There is a memorial here to commemorate the life and works of Donald Allan MacDonald, a Gaelic poet who lived in Daliburgh in the mid 20th century. It is a great base from which to explore a fantastic selection of activities from fishing and walking to diving and birdwatching. The nearby Askernish Golf Course is always popular and was originally designed by ‘Old’ Tom Morris and is popular with golfers keen to test themselves on this challenging course. Dining options include fish and chips from the Burnside Chip Shop or for something a little more fancy dine in at the Borrodale Hotel. While you are in Daliburgh you can stock up on supplies at the supermarket and there is also a number of other shops including gifts shops. A short distance from Daliburgh is the fascinating Kildonan Museum and the birthplace of Flora MacDonald as well as a host of fabulous beaches just waiting to be discovered.
