We recently enjoyed a wonderful two-week stay at Sealladh na Mara. This well equipped property is modern, spacious, clean and comfortable and our children were particularly keen on the reclining sofas, jacuzzi bath and ice machine!Thank you to Mrs McPhee, for her personal greeting upon our arrival and for the delicious locally sourced welcome pack, which was much appreciated after a long journey. The house is situated in an elevated position looking out over small lochs and the South Uist machair. From out of the house windows, we also saw an abundance of bird life during our stay, with the most impressive being male and female hen harriers and short eared owls. The white sandy beach was only a 5 minute walk away, which stretched for miles in both directions. We enjoyed some wonderful early morning and late evening beach walks with the dog during our stay; spotting an array of different sea creatures and bird life including seals, compass jelly fish, sanderlings, buoy barnacles and the fascinating by-the-wind sailors. Sealladh na Mara is a brilliant base from which to explore the Uists - including the island of Eriskay, located a short distance to the south, right up to Berneray in the north with its amazing West Beach. We couldn't recommend this house enough.
