Guests say

Pen Yr Allt is a well-liked cottage praised for its proximity to the beach and local amenities. Guests appreciate the thoughtful touches of flowers and wine, and the property's suitability for families and pets. While some guests find the mattresses uncomfortable and the kitchen cleanliness lacking, the overall experience is enhanced by the location and the helpfulness of the hosts.

Reviews indicate a mix of experiences with cleanliness. Some guests found the kitchenware and cupboards dirty, requiring additional cleaning. However, the bathrooms and bedrooms were noted as clean. The outside bins and garden were mentioned as scruffy, affecting the score.

The location is highly praised for its proximity to the beach, local shops, and restaurants. It is also considered a great base for exploring the area. However, concerns about the property's entrance on a busy road and the difficulty of exiting onto a blind bend slightly lower the score.

Comfort receives mixed reviews. Guests enjoyed the size of the house and the garden, but several mentioned uncomfortable mattresses and garden furniture used indoors. The presence of a fan during hot weather was a positive aspect.

Facilities are generally well-received, with a well-equipped kitchen and sufficient parking. However, issues with lighting in the kitchen, creaky beds, and drafty windows suggest room for improvement in maintenance.

Guests frequently mention the thoughtful gestures of flowers and wine, contributing to a welcoming atmosphere. It should be noted that such gifts, while appreciated, are not guaranteed for every stay.

Overall we enjoyed our time at the property but I do feel that certain issues should be highlighted. I would not make a return visit. The property entrance was on a bend on a busy road. The kitchen area was very poorly lit with the light not working over cooker & spotlight not connected. The kitchen plates ,glasses etc were not clean after several times in the dishwasher, but we did discover that the clip at back on the top shelf was not attached. The furniture was rattan settees which was not particularly comfortable. The slatted beds were very creaky & the pillows very flat.

We had a nice stay in this cottage but we thought it was very basic for the price. Everything in the kitchen was dirty, we had to rewash all the pots and pans and the insides of the cupboards were dirty. All the bathrooms and bedrooms were clean though. The mattresses were very uncomfortable and having garden furniture with blankets over it instead of a sofa was disappointing. All in all it felt a little run down and not value for money for what we paid. The parking is also a bit of a pain, and the blind bend difficult to pull out on to with no mirrors. The outside bins were overflowing and the garden scruffy. We also felt that having other people's cars parked right outside a bedroom window meant we felt overlooked and lacking in privacy. The windows let a lot of draft and noise from the road in. All in all a basic house for the money, although we had a lovely time because we love the area. Communication was great, appreciated early check in and the lovely touches of flowers and wine. Thank you!
