Arfryn is a well-presented house set on the outskirts of Bull Bay on the Isle of Anglesey. Offering sea views, partial ground-floor living and generous outdoor space with a firepit, suited families and friends sharing time together. Pull up at the end of the private lane and park on the gravel driveway, where the crunch beneath your feet marks arrival. Arfryn sits detached and elevated, framed by a lovely garden and open countryside, with views stretching towards the headland and out to sea. The setting immediately feels open and expansive, with coastal air moving across the garden as you reach the front door.
Inside, oak flooring runs through the ground floor, drawing the house together as one continuous space. The living and dining room opens out generously, shaped for shared time. An exposed brick fireplace with a woodburning stove anchors the sitting area, while the TV settles quietly into the background. Light pours through the large curved bay window, pulling the sea and countryside into the room and shifting with the day. Close by, a very large dining table sets the scene for long meals, lingering conversations, and unhurried evenings. The kitchen continues the sense of care and craftsmanship, fitted with bespoke wooden units and a range cooker that invites cooking at an easy pace.
A window seat offers a place to pause with a drink, looking out over the garden, while a separate utility and pantry space keep everything neatly out of sight. On the ground floor, the bedrooms feel settled and well placed. One king-size bedroom stands out with its own curved bay window and sea-facing outlook, paired with an en-suite shower room finished with sleek, contemporary tiling. A second ground-floor king-size bedroom provides another calm retreat, while the family bedroom with a bunk bed and a single becomes a natural space for children to unwind at the end of the day. A sitting area beside the Juliet balcony invites quiet moments spent taking in the sea view, morning or evening.
A walk-in wardrobe adds a sense of space, while the en-suite bathroom completes the room with a freestanding bath and walk-in shower. Outside, the garden opens out around the house with space to settle in throughout the day. Lawned and gravelled areas provide room for seating and shelter, while the fire pit area draws everyone together as evening sets in, flames flickering against the darkening sky. A welcoming pub sits within easy reach, and the nearby town of Amlwch offers shops and supplies without a long journey. The wider island offers memorable days out. Parys Mountain lies within easy reach, its mineral-streaked paths winding through a striking copper landscape with wide views across Anglesey.
Cemlyn Bay offers a wilder coastal scene, where a shingle ridge shelters a lagoon alive with birdlife and headland walks trace the raw edge of the island. Beaumaris brings a change of pace, with castle walls reflected in the water, boats drifting in the harbour, and streets lined with independent shops and cafés. Arfryn in Bull Bay is a carefully renovated coastal house, where sea views, generous living spaces, and a strong connection to the landscape shape a stay on the Isle of Anglesey.
Bull Bay, or Porth Llechog in Welsh, which means "sheltered bay", is a picturesque seaside village on the northern coast of the Isle of Anglesey. It is the most northerly village in Wales, and boasts wonderful coastal scenery, with the island of East Mouse lying within the bay, which is rocky, shingly and offers rockpools for shrimping and crabbing. The village has a hotel with restaurant and bar, an excellent golf course, wonderful scenic walks along the renowned Anglesey Coastal Path and exciting fishing and bird watching. 1.5 miles east is the old port of Amlwch, and Parys Mountain, where visitors can enjoy the Copper Mine Trail Walk amidst the old ruins of what was once the world's largest copper mine in the 18th century. Amlwch's harbour dates back to the Middle Ages, and once was a thriving port. Enjoy the medieval town of Beaumaris, with its 13th century moated castle, museums, excellent shops, pubs and restaurants, a sea zoo, Plas Newydd mansion, or take a day trip into Snowdonia, or visit Dublin from the nearby port of Holyhead.
