Guests say

Glan Y Mor is a stunning holiday cottage in a superb coastal location, offering breathtaking sea views and a spacious, beautifully decorated interior. Guests consistently praise the house’s unique character, well-equipped kitchen, and relaxing atmosphere, with many returning year after year. The property is ideal for coastal walks, wildlife watching, and enjoying the tranquil surroundings. While a few minor issues with cleaning and maintenance were noted, the overwhelming majority of reviews highlight the comfort, thoughtful touches, and exceptional setting, making it a highly recommended choice for a memorable stay on Anglesey.

Most guests found the property clean and well-presented, especially the kitchen and bathrooms. However, a few reviews mentioned minor dust, crumbs, or cobwebs, and one guest noted the house was not as spotless as in previous years. Overall, cleanliness is very good but with occasional lapses.

The location is universally praised, with guests loving the proximity to the beach, stunning sea views, and easy access to coastal walks and local attractions. The peaceful setting and opportunities for wildlife spotting are frequently highlighted as standout features.

Guests consistently describe the house as spacious, comfortable, and relaxing, with high-quality furnishings and beds. The open-plan layout, large windows, and thoughtful design contribute to a restful and enjoyable stay for families and groups.

The property is very well equipped, with a modern kitchen, ample parking, and plenty of space for guests. Some minor issues were noted, such as a leaking shower hose, TV difficulties, and requests for more mugs, but these did not detract significantly from the overall experience.

Many guests appreciated thoughtful touches such as binoculars, a jigsaw puzzle, and, in some cases, biscuits on arrival. While these gestures are warmly received, please note that such gifts are not guaranteed. The house is also praised for its well-considered layout and guest-friendly features.

About this property

This superb detached cottage is set on the seafront in the picturesque Bull Bay cove, near to Amlwch, on the north coast of Anglesey. Set in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, this cottage could not be in a more prominent and spectacular beachside location. Built by the current owners, Glan y Mor has been appointed to a high standard throughout, and offers luxurious upside down living to provide unbeatable sea views from the main living area, a double aspect sitting room with two separate balconies looking out onto the Irish Sea. Stairs lead off the hall to the spacious first floor open plan living room, with galleried ceiling, oak beams and bespoke chandeliers, married with designer radiators, oak flooring and leather sofas, to create a stylish and welcoming area to sit and socialise.

Dine in style overlooking the bay, and prepare delicious home-cooked meals to eat on the balcony whilst watching the changing colours on the sea as the sun sets. The three ground floor bedrooms have been carefully styled to provide the same level of finish as upstairs, with a twin and double room overlooking the cove and a master bedroom with fully-fitted wardrobes and a king-size bed to the rear. The rear patio is a sheltered sun trap with slate chippings and a patio area, with bench seating under the front covered veranda, where you can sit with your favourite tipple, watching the world go by.

There is parking for 3 cars or watercraft, and with the beach and launching slipway just across the harbour road the location is perfect. The Anglesey Coastal Path meanders past the property opening up miles of unspoilt coastline, clifftop walks and hidden coves, and the popular Bull Bay Golf Club is a short stroll past the Trecastell Hotel and bar, with the ever popular Bull Bay Hotel less than a half minute walk in the other direction. A wonderful property in an enviable seaside location, which will have you returning time and time again.

Situated on the Northern coast of the Isle of Anglesey is the pretty seaside village of Bull Bay. The scenery around Bull Bay is stunning as is the nearby island of East Mouse, which sits within the bay and has rockpools which are perfect for shrimping and crabbing. Bull Bay also offers two hotels with restaurants and bars and a superb golf course. Close to the village is the famous Anglesey Coastal Path and just 1.5 miles away is the small, harbour town of Amlwch which boasts shops, bars and a market every Friday. Nearby is the Parys Mountain, where the Copper Mine Trail Walk is worth a visit. Also within driving distance is the historic town of Beaumaris, which has a stunning 13th century castle, museums, shops, pubs and restaurants. Bull Bay is a perfect base to explore the many attractions, towns and villages Anglesey has to offer.

I cannot think of a single negative. We had such a brilliant week. It was tempting to stay in and gaze at the views from the comfort of the settees, especially with so many fascinating nautical elements embellishing the house, but we did make the most of glorious weather to explore beautiful Anglesey. I sincerely hope this is not the one and only time we stay at this seaside house!

The house is large and comfortable, the sea is thirty feet away, and the views - night and die - are breathtaking! This has been our fifth year at this property.
