I want to give a really fair review because we did have a lovely holiday and enjoyed our stay. The cottage is lovely, well laid out and very spacious. Everything we needed was there, we forgot to bring a couple of things but they were provided at the property so it wasn't a problem. You could literally turn up with just your clothes and not need to bring anything else. The owners really have thought of everything. The mattress was very soft which is great if you like it soft, but that's personal preference, the bedding and bedrooms were clean. The stairs are a beautiful feature. The kitchen had everything we needed but really does need a good clean, we had to wash all crockery and utensils before use and things like the knife block needed a wipe down. The worktop needs some TLC but that's the problem with wooden worktops and water. The bathroom had a very strong smell of wee, I gave the toilet and the floor around it a good clean which improved it but it quickly came back. The grassed garden was lovely and the dogs enjoyed running around in it, however I did find some dog poo which was left by previous people. I picked my dogs poo up as I went along so knew it didn't belong to them. The front garden was very overgrown which is great for wildlife and my dogs love having a good rummage around the overgrowth, we were even treated to a hare munching away on the weeds. Thank you for our stay and cleanliness aside, we enjoyed ourselves, the board games and outdoor games were also a lovely touch. I left the property as clean as I could, unfortunately the hoover provided wouldn't have been efficient enough for our hairy dogs so I apologise for any pomsky glitter left behind.

We arrived at the cottage after seeing the pictures expecting to be able to sit out and enjoy the lovely gardens but no walk through front gate to weeds all over the paths and patio areas, overgrown bushes, ivy growing all over cottage and pathway and trees and the proximity of the house of owners just feet away. The lovely doors and windows looking rotten in desperate need of treatment. Into the cottage seemed good until look at the doors main double doors have a big gap between them and the stable door has a big gap between door and frame. The amount of draught that comes through them would be awful in winter, back door step not attached slides off and is dangerous, kitchen work top behind sink and drainer is rotten mouldy and black, the electric hob moves, onto upstairs main bedroom windowsill moves and u can see outside from inside underneath it. Single room one bed kid went to sleep in the pillow and towel that was on the bed stunk of wee. Into the enclosed back garden the fence is about 3ft tall rotten wood falling down sheep wire along bottom didn't feel safe leaving dogs out their alone due to the poor fencing also a big honey suckle bush which is poisonous to dogs in the back garden. no privacy as owners walk round the outside to their own garden. This place could be made lovely with some tlc and time spent on it. Sadly the pictures that are on the site and booking places are nothing like what the cottage is like now especially the outside.

The house is beautiful and we woukd definitely consider going back. The only issue we could find was the driveway was quite overgrown which caused all the sensors to go mad every time we drove in or out. The patio was also very overgrown do we didnt feel as though we could sit out at that side. However, the back garden lawned area was fab a proper sun trap the dogs loved it. There was a table and chairs on the decking which we used regularly. The house itself is gorgeous has absolutely everything you need, the beds were really comfy. Fantastic place.Really enjoyed our week there and our 3 dogs loved it and the treat jar which was left for them as well.Fantastic thank you so much
