Guests say

Friars cottage in Holyhead, Anglesey, is highly praised for its beautiful setting, spaciousness, and comfort. Guests appreciate the well-equipped kitchen, enclosed gardens, and proximity to the beach and RAF Valley. The property is dog-friendly and suitable for wheelchair users. Some minor maintenance issues are noted, but overall, the cottage offers a charming and inviting stay.

The cottage generally receives positive remarks for cleanliness. However, a few guests mentioned that some kitchenware required additional cleaning upon arrival, and there was a mention of a leak. These seem to be isolated incidents rather than a trend.

The location is consistently lauded for its proximity to beaches, nature reserves, and the unique experience of watching planes from RAF Valley. Its quiet setting and easy access to local attractions make it an ideal spot for a holiday retreat.

Guests find the cottage comfortable, with special mentions of the quality bedding and spacious living areas. There are some comments about the central heating settings and a slippery shower, but these are minor compared to the overall comfort experienced.

Facilities are generally well-received, with a well-equipped kitchen and secure garden for dogs. However, there are several mentions of maintenance issues such as a tricky front door lock, heating problems, and a temperamental log burner, which suggest room for improvement.

While guests mention a welcome pack in the property advertisement, there are mixed experiences with some not receiving it upon arrival. As such, while the property may offer thoughtful touches, the inconsistency means that such gifts should not be expected.

The kitchen is very well equipped, a real home from home. Lovely fully enclosed garden perfect for pups and children. Lovely walk down the lane to a beautiful beach. Also added bonus of being close to the RAF base, we enjoyed a few hours watching the action. Thank you for sharing this special place.

Great having enclosed front yard and rear garden for dogs. The interior living space is great and not what you expect when you see the front of the cottage. 10 mins and you are on a beautiful sandy beach backed by dunes. Perfect for plane enthusiasts, being right next to RAF valley, but equally not something that that should put anyone off as it not at all intrusive. Would highly recommend for anyone wanting a great base for exploring Anglesey (or indeed sitting in by the wood burning stove)!

The pots and pans needed a good wash. We know it isn’t their fault that maybe the people before us didn’t clean them but it would have been nice for the cleaners to check. I did make a comment regarding the leak in the back hallway which is really a health and safety hazard. I know you are waiting for the roofer to come but real you should have got this done prior to renting out. However we had a beautiful stay as the weather was good to us and it doesn’t put us off going back to Angelsey.
