About this property

Llanfaelog 1.3 miles. Situated in the quiet rural village of Bryngwran, near Llanfaelog, is this fabulous holiday home, Ysgubor Wen. Perfect for families or large groups, this impressive barn conversion boasts a plethora of on-site amenities and stunning countryside views. Ysgubor Wen makes a terrific base for exploring the Ilse of Anglesey and the nearby Snowdonia National Park and welcomes ten guests and one well-behaved dog for a truly idyllic country escape. Inside, be sure to utilise the fully-fitted, farmhouse kitchen, where you can prepare delicious meals to be enjoyed at the large dining table, before settling down in the well-presented sitting room to enjoy a film or two on the Smart TV as you get cosy by the woodburning stove. As the evening draws to a close, retire to one of five plush bedrooms where you can relax and rejuvenate before a day full of activities, two of which are set on the ground floor, and serviced by a bathroom. Awaken to a coffee in the front courtyard, or embark on a dog walk through the 3-acres paddock, before exploring your surroundings. Be sure to pay a visit to the nearby historic landmark of Tŷ Newydd Burial Chamber on your journey into the town of Rhosneigr, which is just a short drive away and home to Traeth Crigyll and Traeth Llydan, two exquisite beaches perfect for soaking in panoramic views of the Irish Sea. Holyhead, the largest town in Anglesey, is accessible by car, where you can discover popular tourist spots such as Skinner's Monument and the Admiralty Arch or take an afternoon stroll on the scenic Isle of Anglesey Coastal Path. If you fancy a more tranquil day out, Trearddur Bay is the perfect pit stop, with Traeth Trearddur offering up lush sands and clear waters along with a selection of surrounding cafes and restaurants, or even take time to practice your golf swing at the Beach Golf Course. Enjoy all of this and much more during your stay at Ysgubor Wen.

On the western side of Anglesey, close to Rhosneig and the major railway that travels to Holyhead, lies a little settlement called Llanfaelog. In addition to its own 1848-built church, St. Maelog's, Llanfaelog also has a limited number of stores and eateries. Traeth Llydan, a rocky beach bordered by dunes, Porth Tyn Tywyn, and the lovely lake of Llyn Maelog are all nearby and provide lovely walks along the water. Due to its two sand beaches and popularity as a hub for all watersports, the nearby seaside town of Rhosneigr won the Green Coast Seaside Award. There are many delectable restaurants to pick from, and trekkers may join the Anglesey Coast Path, which circles the island and offers stunning coastline views. A golf course and rspb nature reserve are nearby, while Holyhead, which is only a short drive away, has the breathtaking Breakwater Country Park, which was constructed inside of a disused quarry, as well as a maritime museum and a number of beautiful beaches at Trearddur Bay.

This is the 2nd time I have stayed and it won’t be my last.

Prosecco & home made cake to greet us. Super king very comfortable beds. Very well equipped kitchen. Good supply of logs for the fire. Only observation I have is the cabinet above the unit in the en suite juts out too far making it almost impossible to clean teeth over the sink! Would be happy to stay here again.

The large lounge and kitchen made it perfect for our four-generational family. It was good to have a downstairs bedroom and bathroom for the oldest generation, but the rolled top bath was not very accessible as it has no handles, and there was no alternative downstairs shower. Otherwise the facilities were fantastic. The welcome pack was appreciated as were the toys in the children's bedroom. The location was perfect for accessing all parts of the island.
