About this property

Settled close to the beach in Cemaes Bay is this lovely, semi-detached cottage, Yr Hen Efail. This family-friendly cottage in Anglesey is a great base for touring North Wales, offering families and groups of six off-road parking, a garden, ground-floor living, and easy access to local amenities. The living areas include a traditional kitchen/diner where you can set the table for six and rustle up a home-cooked meal with ease, whilst the washing machine sorts your sandy towels ready for another beach day. With plenty of living space, this cottage offers a sitting room with a Smart TV and electric fire, along with a snug, a little bolthole for younger guests to play games. The sun room is a peaceful spot overlooking the garden where you can settle down with a good book, or perhaps unwind in your private garden with a cold beverage. You'll find three bedrooms at Yr Hen Efail, a ground-floor king-size with an en-suite shower room, along with a ground-floor bathroom, whilst upstairs there is a king-size and a twin, with access to a shower room. Start your holiday with a stroll into Cemaes Bay centre where you can dine at the Stag Inn, pick up a takeaway dinner at Y Wygr Fish & Chips, and stock up at the local convenience store, whilst Traeth Bach and Traeth Mawr welcome you to sunbathe, explore rock pools, and paddle the shores. For walking enthusiasts, the Anglesey Coastal Path is a must to discover more idyllic bays, as well as the Cemlyn North Wales Wildlife Trust Reserve. Spend a day in the port town of Amlwch where Clwb Golff Porth Llechog, Copper Kingdom Centre, and Amlwch Leisure Centre all await. Further afield, you'll find Llangefni, home to the The Dingle (Nant-y-Pandy) Nature Reserve and Oriel Môn Art Museum, or perhaps make your way to Holyhead for Breakwater Country Park (Parc Gwledig Morglawdd Caergybi) and day trips to Dublin. Pili Palas Nature World and the National Trust's Plas Newydd House and Gardens are two popular attractions on the island, whilst a drive across the Menai Bridge brings you to Caernarfon, Conwy, and Snowdonia National Park for outdoor adventures. There's something for everyone on your next family-friendly holiday in Anglesey at Yr Hen Efail.

Cemaes Bay is located in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty on the North Anglesey Heritage Coast. It has three pubs, shops, an award-winning chip shop, a cafe and Visitor Centre, a natural protected harbour, and a sandy beach with grassy cliffs. Bedrooms comfortable and house was very spacious with plenty of room for comfort. However Shower in upstairs bathroom not fixed or working for our stay ( we were advised about this prior to our stay) dining room chairs not the comfiest especially for those who have back problems. Would recommend booking this house to anyone as it was a great base in a lovely area.

It is situated at the top of the high street so a short walk from the shops and the beach, but also near the main road which did mean there was noise from the traffic, however this was only noticeable at night. Lovely coastal walks accessible on foot from the property and also a short river/woodland path . I would recommend this property.
