About this property

Ty Capel is a pretty stone holiday cottage built in 1861 as a Chapel House and now a modern cottage offering happy breaks to all. Inside you will still find the beamed ceilings, sash windows, a wood burner and an open fire, and original floorboards. Nestled in a tranquil countryside setting on Anglesey, there’s the cycle route 566 close by, as well as a lake, sweeping views of Snowdonia and lots of lovely walks.

The living space is open plan and includes the kitchen, dining and sitting areas. The kitchen has all you need with an electric oven and hob, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, microwave and toaster. The round dining table seats six people. The cosy seating area has comfortable sofas set around a multi fuel stove to add warmth, a T and DVD player. French doors lead out onto the patio and large back garden.

There is a separate snug which is a lovely room with an original bookcase with books of local interest, maps, adult and children's fiction as well as games and a TV. You will enjoy relaxing in here.

Stairs from the hallway lead up to three bedrooms - one double room, one twin room and a room with full sized bunks. Also on this floor is a family bathroom with bath and shower over, loo, wash hand basin and heated towel rail.

At the front of the holiday cottage is a small enclosed courtyard. At the back of the cottage is a large garden laid to lawn with patio area, garden furniture and picnic bench. There is ample parking available.

If there are more than six in your party you can also rent out Capel Bach next door which sleeps seven.

Geographical centre of Anglesey. Rural location. Ideally placed to explore the beaches of Anglesey such as Rhosneigr, Trearddur Bay and Rhoscolyn, where you can learn how to surf or sail, or simply watch the world go by. Sandy Mount House, The White Eagle and Seacroft are all great to eat.

The cottage is well equipped and the owners have put a lot of effort in trying to make sure that everything that you may need is available. The one thing that seriously lets the cottage down is the shower which is awful. The shower head constantly slides down the riser so it’s impossible to actually stand under it properly and the shower is little more than a dribble . We would consider rebooking the cottage in the future but only if the shower was replaced with one that works properly

The cottage was comfortable enough with incredible views. I was impressed that the owner was able to get additional towels to us on a bank holiday. The only issue was the shower. It’s awful. A dribble at times and needs replacing. Unfortunate Ly despite raising that on our first day we had no response from Sykes other than to say it had been reported to local office. This was the only thing that lets the cottage down. Thanks

A wonderful outlook over fields! We had a wonderful Christmas period and New Years at the cottage and were greeted with a bottle of cava and some chocolate biscuits which was a nice surprise. The only thing that let the cottage down was the shower which didn’t work at all! Thankfully we had family on the island so could use their shower so we managed. However we didn’t contact the owners to inform them of the shower at the time as we felt it needed a new one altogether and didn’t want work being carried out at the property during our stay. It was also quite chilly upstairs even with the heaters on but every bed had electric heated blankets which were a godsend! The weather was extremely wet and windy during our stay which may have been why it was cold? Overall a charming cottage with lots of character and the kitchen was fully stocked. If the shower is changed to a more modern one then we would definitely consider booking here again, although in the summer time ☺️.
