Guests say

Ty Capel Bryntwrog is a well-received cottage, praised for its peaceful location, stunning views, and secure garden ideal for pets. Guests appreciate the comfortable furnishings, cosy atmosphere, and thoughtful touches like welcome treats. While some minor issues were noted, the overall sentiment is highly positive, with many looking forward to returning.

Most guests found the cottage clean and welcoming, with only a few reports of cleanliness issues, such as dust and grime in less visible areas and a stained shower curtain. These seem to be exceptions rather than the rule.

The cottage's location is consistently lauded for its tranquillity, beautiful views, and central position on Anglesey, making it an ideal base for exploring the island. The peaceful setting and proximity to attractions contribute to its high rating.

Guests generally find the cottage comfortable, with a cosy log burner and fluffy bedding. However, some guests mentioned issues with bed comfort and noise, as well as the height of the beds being a concern for shorter guests.

The cottage is well-equipped, with a secure garden and good Wi-Fi. Criticisms include an inadequate shower, lack of wardrobes, and a single bathroom. The maintenance of the shower and the garden's upkeep were specific points of feedback.

While some guests mentioned welcome treats such as scones and cupcakes, there are not enough references to consistently evaluate the thoughtfulness of the hosts. Therefore, while appreciated, such gestures cannot be guaranteed and are not factored into the score.

About this property

Ty Capel is a pretty stone holiday cottage built in 1861 as a Chapel House and now a modern cottage offering happy breaks to all. Inside you will still find the beamed ceilings, sash windows, a wood burner and an open fire, and original floorboards. Nestled in a tranquil countryside setting on Anglesey, there’s the cycle route 566 close by, as well as a lake, sweeping views of Snowdonia and lots of lovely walks.

The living space is open plan and includes the kitchen, dining and sitting areas. The kitchen has all you need with an electric oven and hob, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, microwave and toaster. The round dining table seats six people. The cosy seating area has comfortable sofas set around a multi fuel stove to add warmth, a T and DVD player. French doors lead out onto the patio and large back garden.

There is a separate snug which is a lovely room with an original bookcase with books of local interest, maps, adult and children's fiction as well as games and a TV. You will enjoy relaxing in here.

Stairs from the hallway lead up to three bedrooms - one double room, one twin room and a room with full sized bunks. Also on this floor is a family bathroom with bath and shower over, loo, wash hand basin and heated towel rail.

At the front of the holiday cottage is a small enclosed courtyard. At the back of the cottage is a large garden laid to lawn with patio area, garden furniture and picnic bench. There is ample parking available.

If there are more than six in your party you can also rent out Capel Bach next door which sleeps seven.

Geographical centre of Anglesey. Rural location. Ideally placed to explore the beaches of Anglesey such as Rhosneigr, Trearddur Bay and Rhoscolyn, where you can learn how to surf or sail, or simply watch the world go by. Sandy Mount House, The White Eagle and Seacroft are all great to eat.

Being our second time visiting Anglesey, we enjoyed visiting different beaches which were all quick to get to. We loved the views of the mountains from the garden and the peace and quiet. We just wondered whether the lawn could be mowed a bit more often so children can play on it. Cottage was very well equipped and spacious. Thank you for a lovely stay, we’d love to come again next year!

The cottage itself is lovely, the gardens are amazing and the views are spectacular. The cottage hasn’t got a homely feel, it could do with a complete deep clean, if you are 5ft or under you will definitely need a portable step to get in the beds they are very high, they look the part and blend in great with the decor however from a personal point of view they were uncomfortable.
