The Anglesey community of Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrnd robwllllantysiliogogogoch, often known by its abbreviated name of Llanfairpwllgwyngyll, has the longest place name in Europe, affectionately nicknamed by residents as Llanfair PG. St Mary's church in the hollow of the white hazel near the fierce whirlpool and the church of St Tysilio of the red cave was artificially named in 1860 as a publicity stunt for the railway station and translates from Welsh as "St Mary's church in the hollow of the white hazel near the fierce whirlpool and the church of St Tysilio of the red cave." Llanfair PG, located near the Menai Straits and right off the Britannia Bridge, has a lot to offer families. Head into the popular visitors centre for local tourist information after having your photo taken next to the village nameplate at the railway station.

The cottage is so peaceful and set in a beautiful area of Anglesey with stunning mountain views surrounded by rolling green fields. Carol was extremely accommodating and thoughtful. The welcome items were very much appreciated by us all. The hot tub was an added bonus and the unexpected little pool table in the garage brought us some fun too. We slept so comfortably throughout our stay. The only thing I'd change would be a lockable external door between the main living space and the porch, but that is more of a personal preference as I'm quite security conscious anyway. It definitely wouldn't stop me staying again. We would love another visit.

! Such a beautiful, clean and comfortable self-catering holiday property (with a washing machine and dishwasher). We stayed for 7 nights in Aug 2024 as a family of 4 and instantly felt relaxed due to the remoteness of the location (but still has so much within easy reach) and the actual home itself. It was extremely clean and modern and had everything we needed to prepare a packed lunches each day and a variety of meals throughout the week. The hot tub was a great treat for our children and for us after climbing Snowdon! Carol, the property owner is so lovely and helpful and even though they live next door - we very rarely saw her, only once during the week when she arranged a visit to check levels on the hot tub. You must book this :)
