The Anglesey community of Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrnd robwllllantysiliogogogoch, often known by its abbreviated name of Llanfairpwllgwyngyll, has the longest place name in Europe, affectionately nicknamed by residents as Llanfair PG. St Mary's church in the hollow of the white hazel near the fierce whirlpool and the church of St Tysilio of the red cave was artificially named in 1860 as a publicity stunt for the railway station and translates from Welsh as "St Mary's church in the hollow of the white hazel near the fierce whirlpool and the church of St Tysilio of the red cave." Llanfair PG, located near the Menai Straits and right off the Britannia Bridge, has a lot to offer families. Head into the popular visitors centre for local tourist information after having your photo taken next to the village nameplate at the railway station.

! Such a beautiful, clean and comfortable self-catering holiday property (with a washing machine and dishwasher). We stayed for 7 nights in Aug 2024 as a family of 4 and instantly felt relaxed due to the remoteness of the location (but still has so much within easy reach) and the actual home itself. It was extremely clean and modern and had everything we needed to prepare a packed lunches each day and a variety of meals throughout the week. The hot tub was a great treat for our children and for us after climbing Snowdon! Carol, the property owner is so lovely and helpful and even though they live next door - we very rarely saw her, only once during the week when she arranged a visit to check levels on the hot tub. You must book this :)

Nice secluded spot but only a short drive to all amenities. Hot tub and house spotless and beds so comfy.

The property is spotlessly clean and very modern with everything you need. We visited a few places with my favourite being Beaumaris only 15 minutes away. This is our second time at the cottage and we have booked it again for next year. Can't wait! Thank you Carol and Mark for a fantastic holiday. Excellent. Highly recommended.
