About this property

Melin y Coed holiday cottage is a luxurious mill conversion located on the bank of the River Cadnant, an inlet of the Menai Strait near Menai Bridge. It enjoys stunning waterside views. If you can bear to close the curtains in the evening you can relax in front of a warm fire, far from the busy outside world!

The kitchen/dining area is a generous size and very well appointed, with everything you would expect of a quality hand-made kitchen. There is a dishwasher, Belfast sink, granite worktops, Travertine floors, a fridge/freezer and a range cooker.

A separate sitting room provides comfortable seating for everyone. There is a large sofa and a woodburner for those wintry nights when all you want to do is relax in front of a warm fire. You may never need to use the flat screen TV, with the joys of nature's own show right outside your house!

Upstairs are three double rooms and one single room. A lot of care and attention has been devoted to the décor of these beautiful rooms.

The master bedroom has an en suite with shower, basin and WC. The other bedrooms are all serviced by a large family bathroom with walk-in shower and separate bath.

The kitchen opens out onto a decked area at the side of the house and offers a super setting for outdoor dining. There is also a garden with a balcony, where you can sit and enjoy the wildlife and the peaceful riverside location. A private jetty protrudes from the bank and is great for fishing and boating.

This lavish and beautifully decorated house has been modernised to the highest standard. The high-quality furnishings have been carefully chosen, while the hand-made kitchen forms the delightful hub of the house.

A cosy and sociable holiday house, Melin y Coed is on the outskirts of the bustling coastal town of Menai Bridge on Anglesey. It makes a stunning holiday home both in summer and winter.

This delightful town sits right on the edge of the Isle of Anglesey and is home to one of two bridges to mainland Wales. It is an ideal base for a holiday and is great for exploring this beautiful island. It has a strong history which can be discovered in the Menai Bridge Heritage Museum, the well known Saint Tysilio lived on Church Island, just off of Anglesey in the 9th century, hence the name of the 14th century St. Tysilio's Church. Menai Bridge itself offers a good range of shops, pubs and restaurants to enjoy. In terms of entertainment, this is an ideal spot with something for everybody, there is the butterfly palace 'Pili Palas' which is incredibly popular with families, as well as the astounding Plas Cadnant Hidden Gardens well worth a walk around. The Snowdonia National Park is within driving distance for you outdoor enthusiasts, it has wonderful walking, cycling and opportunities to see some beautiful sights. Nearer to the town, there are some incredible places including the popular towns of Beaumaris and Caernarfon with their majestic castles and much more to do.

The interior is really nice, with a well equipped kitchen and comfy bedrooms. We had to call the housekeeper on the second night as the cooker tripped a fuse, she was there within 15 minutes and fixed the issue straight away. The outside has plenty of seating to enjoy and even a secret grotto where we drank hot chocolate in the evening.

Everyone liked it. It was spacious enough for all of us. Loved the big kitchen. I would look to rebook when we all want to get together again. Not many properties on Anglesey are big enough for 7 adults with comfort. Haven’t used Sykes before but certainly would going forward.

Plenty of room for all of us, six adults and two grandchildren. We were impressed by the quality of the house contents, furnishings, crockery, cooking equipment, etc. and loved watching the Ducks, Swans and Cygnets come and go with the tide! Menai Bridge is a lovely place too. A couple of minor niggles, the push plug in the ensuite didn't work neither did the electric light in the mirror and the kitchen floor was sticky underfoot from the outset. Maybe the cleaning product? None of the above spoilt our holiday and we would go back to the property again
