Superbly located just a short stroll from the centre of the pretty village of Moelfre with its pub, cafés and shops, Bryn Awel, a terraced, former fisherman’s cottage, enjoys magnificent sea views across to the Great Orme at Llandudno and the mountains of Snowdonia. Recently refurbished, it offers cosy and comfortable accommodation for year round holidays and breaks.
Moelfre is steeped in maritime history and still has a working lifeboat station, 50 yards away, as well as a Seawatch Centre and direct access to the 125-mile coastal path that encompasses the whole island. There are also plenty of opportunities to take part in water sports or fishing nearby, with the small shingle beach in the village having public access for boats. Nearby sandy beaches include those at Benllech and Lligwy.
There are many interesting visitor attractions close by including the rsbp South Stack Nature Reserve, Anglesey Sea Zoo, historic Beaumaris with its castle and the National Trust’s Plas Newydd. Snowdonia and North Wales are also easily accessible by car. Beach 300 yards. Shop, pub and restaurant 300 yards.

This is our second visit to Moelfre and Bryn Awel and very much enjoyed our family stay again with our family of 4 adults, 2 young grand children and baby grand child. The communication from the host was excellent and the facilities for the baby were fantastic. The quality of the cottage in the way it is presented is high spec, well equipped kitchen and living room. The second toilet in the shed is an absolute god send with so many people sharing. All in all an excellent property, however a couple of areas for improvement. The shower just doesn't have the power needed and was more of a trickle, my suggestion would be a high powered pump electric shower or combi boiler with that extra power and although the downstairs is detailed to high spec there could be some investment in better quality mattresses on the beds which after a week become very uncomfortable.Lovely cottage which unfortunately our ever growing family have out grown now however we may return for a cheeky couples break some time.

We had a wonderful stay at Bryn Awel and would very happily return. For three of us, the cottage was just right, with enough space to relax comfortably downstairs. I think it might feel a little more of a squeeze with a larger group, but for us it worked perfectly.Our host was exactly the right kind of attentive — genuinely concerned that everything was okay and very helpful, without ever being overbearing. We really appreciated all the thoughtful touches waiting for us: a bowl of chocolates, fresh flowers, milk and a bottle of wine. Such a lovely welcome.The cottage itself was spotlessly clean throughout. The bathroom had a really good shower, which was especially welcome after a day of swimming or kayaking, and the kitchen was particularly well equipped — it really does have every utensil you could possibly need. We had our van with three kayaks and managed to fit everything on the drive- tight little lane to get to it-but manageable. As swimmers and kayakers, we also loved being able to come back and put our wet kit straight into the washing machine.One of our favourite things was the outlook. We spent lots of time sitting outside watching the sea, especially as we were lucky enough to stay during a heatwave. We had some unexpected morning visitors too: baby seagulls who came and knocked on the door looking for water! A little rabbit nibbling the grass in the mornings also became part of the holiday.It's a lovely walk down to the beach and the Kinmel Arms. We bought fish and chips from the local chippy (nice) and ate them on the benches overlooking the sea — hard to beat that. Moelfre was a great base for kayaking. We particularly enjoyed kayaking out to the island with the tower commemorating shipwrecked sailors. We also took a RIB ride from Beaumaris, which we'd thoroughly recommend — great fun speeding along and doing doughnuts, and we were incredibly lucky to see puffins as well as lots of other seabirds.Bryn Awel is a wonderful little fisherman's cottage in a beautiful spot. We came away with very fond memories of our stay and would happily come back again.

Beautiful cottage, well equipped. In a great location with views of Snowdonia and for local pub, beach and walks. Also ideal location to explore Anglesey and North Wales.We did South Stacks light house, new borough beach, zip world, rib ride on Menai and Porthmeirion in our weeks stay.
