About this property

This lovely two-bedroom cottage rests in the heart of the small seaside village of Moelfre, on the Isle of Anglesey, offering a perfect base for a family of four. Gwel Yr Afon is just moments away from the quaint harbour, next door to local cafés and shops, and ideal for those seeking to explore this magical North Wales coastline. Park at the front of the property in the communal parking area before heading inside your home-from-home, entering into the hallway and finding first the kitchen to the left. Discover a neat, fitted kitchen to accommodate your self-catered stay in Wales, with a range of appliances to inspire tasty home-cooking, including a handy slimline dishwasher too.

Pass the cloakroom housing a basin and WC before heading into the bright and open living/dining room, with two sofas to relax on and a TV to entertain, you can unwind following a fun-filled day, while the dining table is perfect not only for quality family meals, but fun board games too! Step out of the patio doors onto the wooden decking and take a seat at the outdoor furniture, settling down to listen to the sounds of the running stream below as you soak up the sunshine. Head upstairs to get some rest in one of the two lovely bedrooms, with the twin room ideal for children, and a king-size master room, both benefitting from large wardrobes and served by the family bathroom, with a bath and overhead shower.

Once you're fresh and ready to explore, you only have to step out of the front door to be already in the heart of the village, with the local café just a few doors down, along with the village shop. Take a walk down to the quaint harbour and look for the boats bobbing on the water, with Moelfre home to the Moelfre RNLI Seawatch Centre, a must-visit displaying impressive lifeboats, exhibits around Moelfre's history, activities for children, and a seated viewing area where you can relax as you take in the fantastic seascapes. The Anglesey Coast Path is the perfect way to get out and about; head southward to come to the pretty village of Benllech, home to a gorgeous stretch of sandy beach and clear blue waters, great for sunny days spent paddling and sandcastle building.

A northern route will bring you to the quieter, yet just as picturesque, shores of Lligwy Beach, whilst more rural rambles can be had further inland, with the trails around the large reservoir of Llyn Alaw being very tranquil. Spend time visiting Anglesey's popular attractions, with furry friends to make at Pili Palas Nature World and Foel Farm Park, along with fascinating creatures at Anglesey Sea Zoo to see. The northern shores of Anglesey are well-worth exploring at villages such as Cemaes Bay and Amlwch, whilst over on Holy Island you can find the stunning Trearddur Bay and Holyhead.
