About this property

This quirky, coastal mid-terrace cottage sits in the middle of a little hamlet of houses on the seafront in the heart of Red Wharf Bay. Set in a reverse-level arrangement, Quay Cottage is a charming escape for families and friends looking to explore this beautiful North Wales region. Find off-road parking for the front of the cottage before unloading your baggage and stepping into this coastal gem. Immediately you will notice the stylish interior reflecting the coastal location with a mix of antique and modern furnishings. The lounge benefits from a panoramic window to allow for uninterrupted sea and beach views, making it a lovely space to unwind during the evenings. Step into the kitchen, boasting a sleek finish and a well-equipped breakfast bar with seating for three, along with all the appliances required for a short break. As you start to yawn, discover the bedrooms on the ground floor, including the master with king-size bed and en-suite shower, a double and a twin with oak flooring. During the summer months, take advantage of the gravelled garden, providing plenty of space to enjoy a barbecue and refreshing beverage. Get to know your surroundings as a multitude of footpaths, cycle routes and scenic walks weave their way throughout the area. Just a short walk will bring you to a lovely sandy beach, perfect for spending the afternoon relaxing on the golden sands or taking the opportunity to get involved with some watersports activities. Venture to the village of Benllech, a thriving hub home to all the shops and takeaways you need, as well as a great selection of pubs and restaurants, not to mention to the gorgeous golden sands and clear blue waters of Benllech Beach, ideal for bathing and paddling. Those feeling active and travel towards Mynydd Bodafon, the Isle of Anglesey’s highest peak and offering stunning country views from the summit. However, you choose to spend your getaway, Quay Cottage has everything for a wonderful and relaxing holiday.

The very large (4.5 mile-long) bay of Red Wharf Bay is located on Anglesey's northeast coast; its Welsh name of Traeth Coch (Red Beach) reflects the area's reputation for spectacular sunsets. The bay is relatively shallow, and during low tide, about 10 square miles of sand are exposed, providing safe bathing, fishing, and miles of beautiful, scenic hikes. Shell duck, grey plover, purple sandpipers, curlew, oystercatchers, and dunlin are among the many waterfowl and wading birds that flock to the enormous bay. Beaumaris, a charming mediaeval town with a 13th century moated castle, lovely buildings holding excellent shops, olde-worlde taverns, restaurants, bistros, museums, a golf course, and exciting pleasure boat and sea fishing expeditions, is only 3 miles away. This is a lovely spot on the scenic Isle of Anglesey's east coast.

Good parking Stayed for 3 nights as planned, pity there wasn’t an option price for 3 nights as it was the same price to stay for the week. Generally well equipped cottage A little TLC required in some areas

It was clean, comfortable, well positioned with a view to die for. It far exceeded our expectations and we will definitely be back.

We were re-visiting the area, and had a wonderful time on our beloved Anglesey walks. The views from Quay Cottage are stupendous and it's a great base for exploring as well as being close to great places to eat and drink. Highly recommended!
