About this property

Curragho is a great family holiday house in Trearddur Bay on Anglesey. Shops, lovely places to eat and little coves within walking distance. Inside, the house is bright, modern and welcoming. It’s also cosy in the winter too, making it the ideal year-round holiday house by the sea.

The sitting room is upstairs to make the most of the gorgeous views of the main beach in Trearddur Bay through the large sliding doors. Sofas are set around an open fireplace for warmth in colder months. There is a TV and plenty of games, too! To one side of the seating area is a breakfast table with chairs. Step outside the sliding doors and you’ll be on the balcony which has garden furniture. Sit out here with your morning cuppa, or evening glass of wine!

The open plan kitchen and dining space is lovely and sociable. The kitchen makes cooking easy - a six ring and two oven gas range cooker, larder fridge freezer, microwave, tiled floors are here to use. There is a separate utility room that has a washing machine, dryer and sink.

The large family dining table and chairs is perfect for family suppers - that’s also a wood burning stove for chillier evenings. French doors lead to the patio area outside with table and chairs.

Downstairs are four bedrooms: A double bedroom with an ensuite bathroom with shower over the bath. In this room, French doors take you out into the garden. There are two twin rooms, one of which offers access to the garden. There is also a room with bunks set at right angles so adults may sleep comfortably in these. Please be advised that the bottom bunk is three-quarter in size.

The family bathroom has a bath, shower, loo and wash hand basin. There is a further wet room with shower basin and loo - the ideal place to head after coming from the beach to wash off sandy toes!

The garage offers plenty of space for drying wetsuits, kayaks, or general storage of outdoor gear.

Trearddur Bay is a bustling seaside town on the west coast of Anglesey. There is so much to do here, including sailing, windsurfing, diving, skiing and swimming. There is a sandy Blue Flag beach with plenty of quaint little coves and bays surrounding it. Shops and places to eat and drink are a short stroll away. This is a year-round holiday house, ideal for a family holiday be the sea!

Trearddur Bay is situated on the western shore of Holy Island. It’s truly beautiful - a great sweep of low grassy coastline indented with rocky coves and fine sandy beaches (European Blue Flag). Watersports, bathing, sailing and windsurfing are the main activities in the summer months and golfers will enjoy the excellent Holyhead 18 hole links golf course. It’s a great place for nature lovers with renowned birdwatching at the South Stack Lighthouse rspb Reserve and lots of rock pools and cliff top walks to explore. There are shops, pubs and restaurants in Trearddur Bay itself and nearby Holyhead offers a wider range of amenities, including a very good leisure centre, an interesting harbour front, a marina, the world’s second longest breakwater and exciting day trips to Dublin on the ferry. The Maritime Museum in Holyhead has an excellent cafe and the beautiful Holyhead Breakwater Country Park has walks for you to enjoy. Further afield there is the stunning Newborough with its excellent woodland and beach and Beaumaris with its town and castle. A great location with plenty to see and do!

Hope to book again for next year. Trearddur Bay is stunning. Very friendly people. Very high standard of eateries. We were spoilt for choice! Loved the balcony with the views of the bay. We were lucky to have such great weather! Only one thing about the house was slightly annoying. The front gates were hard to open fully, for our 2 cars to park.

Main en suite bedroom smelt damp and of dog. My wife ended up getting flea bitten, perhaps because of pets allowed. I did notice the previous occupiers had a dog - this may be connected, I’m not sure. Facilities within the home were good.
