This small coastal village is nestled between the traditional mining town of Llanelli and idyllic Burry Port, on the South West Wales coastline. It boasts an elevated position rising away from the coast, giving you views of the Gower Peninsula, and it is also home to the Amelia Earhart Plaque, which commemorates the first woman to fly across the Atlantic Ocean, who landed in the estuary near Pwll in June 1928. The village also has a local shop, pet shop and Post Office, as well as a few pubs. The conservatory was a real bonus and we enjoyed autumn sunshine sitting in there for meals. The cottage had everything we could have needed. We used it as a base for walks with our dogs and within a short drive we found some fabulous places to explore. Pembrey country park was a real bonus - we bought a weekâs parking permit for just £25 and on days when the dogs had to be on lead most of the day (Caldey island, bosherton lakes) we could take them for a couple of hours run before we left. It was also a beautiful place to watch the sunset in the evenings. The cottage made a fabulous base to explore from and we would recommend it to anyone wanting to explore this beautiful area. Only short fall is that the bedrooms are rather small leaving very little room around the beds. Difficult to remedy this problem!
