For something a little more active, spend a glorious afternoon hiking up to the ancient Iron Age hillfort at Pen Dinas (5.5 miles) – rewarding you with magnificent views over Aberystwyth.
This inviting property, set over three levels, boasts a relaxing and spacious open-plan kitchen/diner. It is a perfect space to unwind with your loved ones, share meals, and plan your days of adventure. The kitchen has all the appliances you need to rustle up some family favourites. To the right of the dining room are two large living rooms with plenty of comfortable seating, Smart TVs and crackling wood burners: an ideal set-up for multi-generational groups. Upstairs, you’ll find a second bathroom, three king-size bedrooms (one with an en-suite shower room), and a single room. A triple bedroom with three single beds is available in the loft space, and a lounge area. This room is perfect for children, providing endless entertainment with a 4-in-1 multi-game table that includes football, table tennis, pool, and air hockey. Patio doors lead from the dining area to the peaceful garden, where you can relax on the patio furniture, fire up a sizzling BBQ and enjoy dining alfresco in fine weather. Private parking for four cars is available.
If you’re looking for some traditional seaside fun, pack up a picnic and head to Borth Beach (12 miles) – a popular spot for swimming, surfing, fishing, sailing and windsurfing. Alternatively, witness the daily feeding of spectacular red kites at Nant Yr Arian Red Kite Feeding Centre (9.5 miles), or take a historic ride on the Vale of Rheidol Railway (6 miles). This beautiful narrow-gauge steam railway runs from Aberystwyth to Devil’s Bridge.
