Cefn y Gadfa is a charming cottage in Betws-y-Coed, appreciated for its spaciousness, cleanliness, and stunning setting. Guests enjoy the historical ambiance, scenic views, and the peacefulness it offers. While some minor maintenance issues are noted, the overall experience is highly regarded, with many looking forward to returning.
The property is generally described as clean, with specific praise for its spaciousness. However, there is a mention of fungus in one bathroom due to a leak, which slightly affects the score.
The location is highly praised for its beauty and tranquillity. The remote setting is considered a gem, despite the challenging access track, which adds to the property's charm.
Guests find the cottage warm, dry, and comfortable, even in adverse weather conditions. The presence of family memorabilia and tasteful furniture contributes to the cosy atmosphere.
The facilities are generally good, with an electric Aga for cooking and essential amenities for a relaxing break. However, the absence of a frying pan and some maintenance issues with kitchen fixtures slightly lower the score.
There is no mention of gifts or special thoughtful touches provided by the hosts in the reviews, so it is not possible to assess this category.

Love the rural location and views. The house is lovely. Lots of antique, weird and wonderful pieces of furniture and think thatâs part of its charm. Kitchen well equipped, bedding and towels nice, internet great, bathrooms good and water pressure excellent (amazing for how rural it is!). Unfortunately for us, someone must have stayed shortly before us with cats as the pungent smell of cat in the dining room was overwhelming. We couldnât use the room despite airing it as best we could. There was cat fur on stairs and landing so assume someone had them in this area. A shame for us as we had planned to use the room for a 70th birthday dinner, but wasnât an option. Guess this was due to previous guest rather than the home owner (didnât have the same issue in February) though. Hope it is gone soon for future guests.

However we did search in vain for the new frying pan promised and also felt the need of a sieving ladle (large spoon sized). The kitchen door has fallen on its hinges so the bolts won't relocate to close unless it is lifted up. And the front kitchen window has a similar problem when it is time to close it again. Otherwise everything was just as delightful and the lack of TV wasn't troubling at all. Views are breathtaking, the sheep and lambs provide an ever changing floor show and the peaceful walks and atmosphere simply out of this world.

Would visit again without hesitation and recommend highly to others too. A wonderful holiday.
