There is also a nearby, open lake, just five minutes' walk from the cottage where guests can enjoy fishing or perhaps even a bracing early morning swim to start off the day before venturing out to explore this fantastic area. This Ruthin cottage is located mid-point between Ruthin, Corwen and Cerrigydrudion, and offers a superb touring base to access Llyn Derwen for fishing, Bala for sailing and white water rafting as well as the Clocaenog Forest for magical woodland walks and cycling routes. For fun-filled exhilarating days out, there are lots of options in the direction of the Snowdonia National Park. Within easy reach is Surf Snowdonia in Dolgarrog, the world’s first inland surf lagoon, Zip World Velocity in Bangor and Zip World Titan and Bounce Below in Blaenau Ffestiniog. The hilltop town of Ruthin lies to the north of Llangollen via the breathtaking Horseshoe Pass. The town is picturesque with attractive half-timbered buildings, mainly clustered around St Peter's Square.
