Guests say

Hendre Aled Cottage 3 is a charming, peaceful retreat set in beautiful Welsh countryside, ideal for those seeking tranquillity and rural seclusion. Guests consistently praise its cleanliness, comfort, and well-equipped interiors, with many highlighting the warm welcome from the hosts. The cottage is perfect for dog owners and walkers, offering direct access to scenic walks. While the remote location and bumpy access track may challenge some drivers, most found the setting rewarding. Occasional thoughtful touches, such as cakes on arrival, were appreciated, though not guaranteed. Overall, guests enjoyed a relaxing and memorable stay.

Multiple reviews describe the cottage as immaculately clean, tidy, and well-presented, with no significant complaints about cleanliness.

The rural, secluded location is highly valued by guests seeking peace and quiet, with beautiful views and great walking opportunities. However, the steep, rough access road and remoteness were challenging for some, especially those unaccustomed to country driving.

Guests frequently mention the cottage as cosy, comfortable, and warm, with quality furnishings and beds. Minor issues such as pillows or heating in very cold weather were noted by a few, but overall comfort is rated highly.

The cottage is well-equipped, with a good kitchen, dishwasher, and secure garden. Some guests noted the lack of a washing machine, hairdryer, or up-to-date local maps, and a few maintenance issues (e.g., shower, heating, access road) were mentioned but generally resolved quickly.

Many guests appreciated thoughtful gestures from the hosts, such as cakes on arrival and helpful local advice. However, as these gifts are not guaranteed, future guests should not expect them as standard.

If I had read the small print more carefully I would have gathered this. However that said it is a warm welcoming place to arrive at. It was the most expensive and most sparsely equipped rental of our UK trip. I did get a weak but useable cell signal at the house

The cottage itself was comfortable and well-equipped, with almost everything you’d need for a perfect stay. It felt warm and homely from the moment we arrived. Pauline was incredibly kind and answered all our questions before arrival, and the cake waiting for us was such a thoughtful surprise , a really lovely touch that made us feel right at home. The setting is beautiful. As you approach the cottage, the road becomes a bit steep and bumpy (possibly due to the recent weather), but it’s absolutely worth it. You’re rewarded with stunning views across the hills and valley, which really set the tone for a peaceful countryside escape. Driving past the surrounding fields was a highlight in itself – we even spotted tiny lambs running about, which was just delightful. It’s also a great pet-friendly stay. Our pup absolutely loved the space and surroundings, which made the trip even more special for us. Overall, it was calm, quiet, and a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. We would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a cosy countryside retreat.
