Valley View Cottage offers a peaceful, rural retreat with beautiful surroundings and a fantastic hot tub, making it an excellent base for exploring North Wales. Guests appreciate the spaciousness, cleanliness, and privacy, as well as the proximity to local attractions. However, some aspects of the property, such as maintenance, WiFi, and the provision of basic amenities, could be improved. The lack of a welcome guide and occasional issues with facilities were noted, but overall, families and groups enjoyed their stay and the cottage’s tranquil location.
Most guests found the cottage clean and tidy, with fresh bedding and towels. However, a few mentioned issues such as mould, cobwebs, and ants, indicating some inconsistency in cleaning standards.
The location is highly praised for its peacefulness, privacy, and beautiful views. Its proximity to Llangollen and local attractions is a major highlight for guests.
Guests enjoyed the spaciousness and comfortable beds, but some noted maintenance issues, tired furnishings, and a lack of basic supplies, which affected overall comfort.
The hot tub and washing machine were appreciated, but repeated issues with WiFi, broken appliances, missing amenities, and the closed swimming pool were common concerns. Some safety issues were also mentioned.
There were no welcome gifts mentioned, and guests noted a lack of basic supplies (soap, toilet paper, condiments) and absence of a welcome guide. Please note that gifts are not guaranteed.

Very expensive for 2 nights. Kitchen was poor, no bin bags, cooking oil or condiments provided. No soap in any of the bathrooms and only one hairdryer between four bedrooms. No seating in the bedrooms or bins. One toilet roll per toilet. Generally the place looked very tired and in need of refurbishment. Disappointing for what should have been a special family gathering.

As per many recent reviews the cottage is tired, cracks in kitchen floor tiles leading to ants crawling around. 2 dining Chairs were wobbly as missing a bolt each. Outside door mat needs replacing. Patio furniture needing replacing as one chair missing a piece and screws visible and dangerous had someone sat on it not paying attention. Hot tub lid had no arm on it so incredibly heavy. We were told of this on arrival but nothing we could do about it. They had a put a table close by to slide the lid on to but this took 2-3 adults to achieve! There was a brand new BBQ. Bedding and towels clean and fresh. Beds comfy. Broadband and tv worked fine just needed rebooting occasionally. Lovely views and nice walks across nearby.

Lovely stay. Check in was simple. The place advertises wifi but I do not believe this to be true. We had seen other reviews and when arriving at reception she said it was down for the weekend. Personally I think its always down. Hoeseasons neglected to tell us the swimming pool was closed until day of arrival meaning packing swim stuff was unnecesary. Very clean cottage, cannot fault the cleaning but some features that need upgrading for safety reasons. Dishwasher needs a new drawer, it has a mising wheel so impacts the spinner meaning the washing machine doesnt work. Main concern was the electrical plugs NOT screwed in, all they need is a longer screw, something that should be fixed immediately for safety, any thought of children visiting? Other than the lack of wifi and television as well as broken items we had a nice stay as a family. Very rural location so private and some sheep always in the garden (mind the droppings). No welcome book provided with check out instructions.
