While a few minor maintenance issues and rural quirks like narrow lanes and occasional insects are mentioned, the overall experience is overwhelmingly positive, with many guests eager to return.

Most guests found the cottage very clean and comfortable, though a few noted the presence of cobwebs and insects, which are to be expected in a rural setting.

Guests frequently mention thoughtful touches such as welcome hampers and helpful communication from the owners. Please note that gifts like welcome hampers are not guaranteed for every stay.

This was our second visit here but unfortunately there was a few negatives on our first visit the bbq was old and falling apart so wasn’t in use an was sad to find the same bbq was stil there so again had no use to bbq use, an I really think the hot tub is in desperate need of a hut over it like the cottage next door as we had long spells of rain so this would really been handy. The cottage needs alot of updating and tlc an I think an air fryer would be a very welcome addition to the kitchen. The location a views was just as breathtaking as our first visit an Ruthin historic town centre is lovely we visited Ruthin old prison kids loved this an Ruthin castle the views there were stunning. An I know the cottage is in rural location but the amount of huge spiders we were faced with daily was a lot to handle.

We had a fantastic stay at Ysgubor, the kids enjoyed the garden and play area, and the hot tub was a welcome addition. The house is beautifully quiet and relaxing, but it is rural, so be prepared for a short stretch of narrow lane to reach it and a few spiders and flies here and there, but it is to be expected in its remote location. We had no requirement for the lift but didn’t find it an issue, it was quite handy for loading up the bags and saving your legs, when arriving and unpacking! The view is stunning and the cottage is a lovely base to explore. The cottage had everything we needed for a home from home, and is ideally located to visit lots of North Wales and also Shropshire and Liverpool within reasonable distance for a day trip. We enjoyed visiting Llangollen, Snowdon and Conwy. The welcome hamper was much appreciated and the information pack sent on email 24 hours before is very thorough, so we were not disturbed by the owners at all. A neighbour visits each day to check the hot tub but it’s not disturbing. One point we were glad we took our pet ‘cork screw’ for the dog, as there is no enclosed space, so we managed well with tethering her in various spots. Just something to be aware of, as it is sheep country! Overall, we had a wonderful holiday and will recommend to family and friends as well as the larger property next door, which looked very nice and similar vantage!

We had a lovely time at this cottage. The lack of stairs and only a lift to get between floors was a bit of a pain as it meant "nipping upstairs" for something was a slow process, but otherwise, everything was super. The scenery from the cottage was amazing, and there is a lovely balcony and of course hot tub to enjoy it from. It was very comfortable and had everything you could need.
