We had the most wonderful stay at Black Lion’s Folly and honestly couldn’t recommend it highly enough. From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel so welcome by Adele and her family – they are incredibly friendly, kind, and genuinely care about making your stay special. Nothing felt too much trouble, and that personal touch really sets this place apart. The property itself is absolutely stunning. Beautifully restored, spotlessly clean, and finished to an exceptionally high standard throughout, it feels both luxurious and homely. The open-plan living space is perfect for spending time together, the bedrooms are incredibly comfortable, and having every room en-suite is a real luxury. The facilities are outstanding – from the fully equipped kitchen to the underfloor heating, wood burner, and the fantastic hot tub, which was the perfect place to relax and unwind. The setting is just as impressive. Surrounded by breathtaking countryside with views across to Moel Famau and the Clwydian Hills, it’s peaceful, scenic, and the ideal base for exploring North Wales, whether you want walks, market towns, coast, or days out further afield. The enclosed garden and patio area made it perfect for socialising, and everything felt thoughtfully designed for comfort and enjoyment. This is a truly special place run by truly lovely people. We left feeling relaxed, refreshed, and already planning our return. If you’re looking for a beautiful, welcoming, and high-quality retreat in a stunning location, Black Lion’s Folly is simply exceptional.

Absolutely amazing! Adele and Paul were such great hosts, nothing at all was too much trouble and their communication beforehand could not be faulted. My group of friends thoroughly enjoyed. The cottage serves us all well. Comfy beds, hot tub, the big fridges, the cooking equipment, the abundance of glasses, the space. I could go on and on. 100% recommended and we will be back!
