The hilltop town of Ruthin boasts attractive half-timbered buildings that are mainly clustered around St Peter’s Square, along with Nant Clwyd House, which is the oldest timber frame in Wales, Ruthin Gaol and Ruthin Craft Centre. Also close by are Lake Brenig, Moel Famau Country Park and Clocaenog Forest, and further afield are the wonderful Snowdonia National Park and historic Chester and Liverpool.
