A luxurious waterside retreat with the stunning backdrop of the Menai Strait waters and Menai Suspension Bridge. Sleeping up to 16 guests in total this period manor house has both stylish flair and unrivalled surroundings.
With plenty of indoor space, including three reception rooms and two separate seating areas there is room to stretch out in peace with a book and gaze out of the sash windows at the waterfront. Why not come together for a sing song in the music room, complete with piano or hunker down in the gaming snug for some quality time with the kids? Off the great hall is a large sitting room with plush sofas a great spot in the evening to shoot the breeze, whilst a sunny day can be enjoyed to the max in the annexed conservatory where the soothing views of boats bobbing along the water will calm even the busiest of minds. A lively evening meal served at the large dining table is also a great spot to enjoy panoramic views across the water.
A fitted kitchen including all the appliances you need with smooth granite worktops and a spacious breakfast bar to enjoy a morning coffee and croissant together. Plus, for added convenience a dishwasher, washing machine and dryer are all provided.
Take the grand staircase up to the calm and tranquillity of the sleeping quarters. A master king-size bedroom comes with walk in wardrobes, spectacular views and a delightful en-suite with roll top bath, a dreamy space to have a bedtime soak before lying down to rest. A further two king size rooms, a double and a twin have use of a sleek shower room on the ground floor. To finish off the sleeping accommodation a family room with double bed an access to the second-floor double room has a further en-suite with bath and shower over.
On a warm evening take a stroll, drink in hand, to the landscaped garden that stretch all the way to the water’s edge whilst on the large patio area dinner sizzles on the BBQ grill. Spend the evening under the stars with the soundtrack of water gently lapping in the background.
Sunrush House is perfectly perched to get out and explore this beautiful part of Wales, whether you are looking for Michelin Star food, historic sites or fancy getting out on the water yourself there are endless opportunities to get out an explore.
Over the water from the house is Menai Bridge full to the brim with an array of shops and restaurants. We recommend a tapas meal at the Freckled Angel for some delicious small plates, or a lovely local menu with a seaside view at Dylan’s. The Menai Food Festival is a must if you are visiting in August, and if food is your thing then make sure you book in advance at Sosban and the Old Butcher’s, with food deserving of its Michelin Star.
Why not visit the only working windmill in Wales at Llynon Mill? Built in 1775 the mill still produces wholemeal flour, whilst two neighbouring roundhouses provide a unique insight into the farming practise and lifestyle of the Iron Age. There is also a wonderful on-site café to grab some lunch or a slice of cake during your visit.
If you want to get out on the waves, we recommend a visit to Beaumaris Pier to grab a boat trip to Puffin Island. Skippers will steer you past the seal colony and seal cave at Penmon Point lighthouse, whilst the Island itself has a plethora of birdlife from cormorants, guillemots and of course puffins! If you are lucky you may even spot bottlenose dolphins or harbour porpoises swimming by.
A trip into the Snowdonia national park is a must during your stay. Whether you are looking to climb the highest peaks or just take in the natural beauty of the National Park there is something for everyone. We recommend the Llyn Cwellyn Boardwalk trail, an easy access lakeside walk that meanders between two soaring mountain peaks. If hiking isn’t your thing then why not hop on board the seasonal Snowdon Railway, surely one of the most picturesque train rides in the world, with stunning scenery and awe-inspiring views you can ride the rail right to the summit without any exertion needed!
