In a unique rural location, accessed by its own private track across rolling green fields, this renovated, detached, former farmhouse was once part of the nearby Glynllifon country estate. Set in quiet, tranquil countryside surrounded by rolling green, tree-studded farmland, it enjoys fabulous views to the rear of the Snowdonia Mountains, and to the front there are far reaching views across to Anglesey and the Lleyn Peninsula. In fact, on a clear day you can see the ferries leaving the port of Holyhead on their journey across the Irish sea to Dublin!
This really is a superb spot for exploring this amazing part of North Wales, where you can enjoy both spectacular mountain scenery and the most amazing beaches, along with a host of family attractions. It really does make a fantastic base from which to explore the Snowdonia National Park whatever time of year, with its cosy wood burner and wonderful hot tub.
The many attractions of this area include a narrow gauge steam railway, which winds its way from historic Caernarfon into the heart of the Snowdonia Mountains, and a small airfield for pleasure flights over the area. Caernarfon, with its magnificent castle, is within easy reach and also offers a fine selection of shops, pubs and restaurants, along with golf, bike hire and sailing. Beach 4½ miles. Shop 1½ miles, pub and restaurant 3 miles.

Low score for local amenities as need to travel to reach any. Overall we had a lovely holiday. The views were outstanding and very relaxing to look at especially when sat in the hot tub. The dog rules did not make sense for a "dog friendly" accommodation but think it may have been a standard sign, after all, who is not going to exercise their dog in the garden! We had one problem but the owners had it all sorted before our return from a day out. Definitely spacious yet cosy. Just what we wanted.

Sadly, this cottage did not live up to the 5 star rating that we expected. I can see how perhaps it was once a 5* cottage, but it is sadly in need of a refresh. The cottage is beautifully situated with stunning views of the sea. The hot tub and patio are situated so that you can make the most of these views. But the house for us is looking slightly tatty for what we would expect from a a 5* property. * The settee is looking stained and to make this worse it is covered in tatty, bobbled old throws. ( just buy some new throws and deep clean the upholstery).* You are unable to fully open the dishwasher as the oven door is in the way. This makes loading the dishwasher quite awkward. * I would expect more than 1 bath towel per person(again these were looking old) and few hand towels, in a 5* property. It would be nice to have a hand towel for each person and an outdoor towel. (This is what we had when staying at another 5* cottage with this company - Gelli Newydd). * There were no big pans or casserole dish when we arrived. To be fair to the owners they brought one as soon as we phoned up and asked. But it could really do with 2 large pans for a cottage for 8. * Some things just need either replacing or a deep clean, the blind in the kitchen has large stains in it and some of the tea towels are stained (just replace these, they cost peanuts !). * The climbing frame is not how it is on the photo. The large slide is missing and rather than replacing it, they have just taken it away and left a gap (it would be good if a few wooden lats could be put across this gap). There is no sand in the sand pit (which was disappointing for the children). It would also helpful to have extra paving slabs at the bottom of the steps in the back garden as the ground there is uneven. To sum up, this cottage has the potential to be 5* but needs some TLC.

My family of 8 and one dog stayed a week. We had a lovely time. We enjoyed the location and our dog enjoyed the garden. We all enjoyed the hot tub with a spectacular view. Handy co op down the road. Short drive to a pub. We didn’t drive more than 45 minutes to find something to do.
